Performs a variety of routine and repetitive assembly and/or remanufacturing operations and processes; together with a variety of hand machining processes. Cross trains in other complementary skills as needed to support production requirements.

Specific Accountabilities

Sets up and operates a variety of hand tools such as hammers, files, dremels, vibro-peen tools, drills, presses, low temperature ovens, pullers and hand grinders to perform various operations such as blending, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking, and braze application.

Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions. Translates instructions into actions.

Fits and assembles machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.

Manually aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels or rivets complex series of parts together.

Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Inspects quality and accuracy of run work.

Sets up and operates test equipment (e.g., pressure test).

Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.

Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements.

Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.

Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.

Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.

Carries out other duties as assigned. Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.

Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.

Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.

Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.

Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.

Specialized training in machine shop practices.

Must be authorized to work in the US per ITAR.

VIEW JOBS 1/8/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-07T00:00 Position Title: Molding Utility Operator Reports to: Molding Lead Location: Maryville, TN Job Summary: This position is responsible for accurate and timely mold color changes. They will be working with Process Techs and Quality to ensure all colors meet standards. Job Duties: * Inspect, and package in-process inventory and/or finished goods. * Request supplies, cartons, etc. as needed to supply all Molding lines. * Perform complete color changes by following all the procedures. * Assist in clean-up, shutdown, and start-up of all lines. * Assist Process Techs with mold cleanings. * Comply with good housekeeping and safety practices. * Keep color area organized and consolidate colors when applicable. * Coordinate with Molding shift lead with color changes and color that will not return to the racks. * Assist in relieving breaks for Packers when necessary. * Able to operate a forklift/for removal of scrap bins and/or gaylord's during their shift. * Print labels and work orders for change-overs. * Update turnover sheet throughout their shift with assistance of the Molding Shift Lead. Minimum Qualifications: * Ability to work well with others. * Flexible to work any shift. * Ability to work overtime or fill in for call-ins when necessary. * Be able to use e-mail and communicate effectively. * Must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal work instructions. * Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction. * Communication – ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally. * Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. * Ability to perform standing job for 12 consecutive hours. * Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12 hour period. Preferred Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED. * Previous packer experience.
