Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
Provide innovative solutions for production issues
Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must have 1-year experience as machine operator in a manufacturing setting
Ability to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and applies good mathematical reasoning.
Ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds frequently
Must have ability to work standing or walking, in a hot or cold environment, for 10 hours with appropriate breaks
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good team player with positive work attitude and willingness to cooperate
Strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail oriented
Ability to complete required paperwork per shift.
Essential Functions
Arrive on time and be able to work established shift hours on a daily basis. Be able to follow all attendance policies on a regular basis.
Fill out all daily forms and paperwork (HR x HR, TPMs, Quality Checks)
Retrieve all necessary tissue for current order and properly assemble rolls to meet product standards.
Coordinate with lift truck operator to Load Tissue / High Bulk Rolls on spindles
Load Poly (when required)
Inspect and adjust all air pressure gauges
Discard all waste by transporting the waste to the compactor/baler.
Responsible for operating, trouble shooting and maintaining material flow to the machine
Prep the air pressure shaft
Reset roll counter
Feed and align tissue and poly through roll machine and adjust tension as needed
Communicate with a fork lift operator when roll changes are required
Assemble, label all pallets for traceability
Retrieve the appropriate pallet and case liners for the pallets
Start/Stop/Jog the Roll Machine
Report any abnormality to the immediate Team Leader, along with any and all down time
Ability to operate different Roll Machines when required
Conduct machine adjustments to include major / minor changeovers
Perform routine quality checks
Maintain housekeeping of work area and maintain safe work environment
Perform all other assigned duties
Follow safety rules, Good Manufacturing Policy rules, CDC rules and have a team oriented demeanor.
Hair and or beard hair groomed and maintained to support food safety standards with the use of hair and/or beard nets.
Have good personal hygiene for self and proper work attire.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends and holidays as required
