Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator: (HEO)
This position reports to the VP of Operations for career development. When assigned to a project, this position will report directly to the Field Supervisor. (FS) The FS will evaluate the HEO's performance and such evaluation will weigh heavily on advancement and future compensation increases.
Must be capable of performing the following duties:
Skillfully and safely operate a 50k# class excavator, 40K# class dozer and hold grade, a backhoe, rubber-tire loader, and smaller equipment.
Must be able to read and understand blue prints and read grade stakes.
Have experience performance structural demolition and be considered a competent person for demolition planning.
Must be considered a competent person for soil classifications and performing benching sloping for excavation >4ft but less than 20ft. Must possess safe knowledge and skill sets in executing excavation greater than 20ft in depth.
Must be willing and knowledgeable in maintaining equipment per the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule.
Preferable experience include operating a survey level.
Have knowledge of and experience in meeting compaction standards and operating compaction equipment.
Preferable experience in operating excavator mounted shears (2nd and 3rd member)
Experience in operating heavy equipment in cleaning out pits, ponds, and lagoons.
Preferable experience in having a CDL license and being available /capable to operate a low boy.
Preferable experience in operating de-watering equipment to includes dredges, plate and frame filter presses, centrifuges, etc..
Be willing to travel for extended period so time (up to 3 weeks) with little advance notice and with rotations periods between assignments of 3-5 days,
Available and willing to infrequently perform other duties not assigned or associated with your position as directed by your Manager.
Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment in a safe manner at all times.
Uphold and ensure fellow employees are following proper safety guidelines and directions as provided for in the project specific HASP and Action's Safety Program.
Protect the Company's interest with respect to proper equipment operation of rental and company owned equipment with regard to operating or being directed to operate such equipment in or under conditions that may cause significant damage to equipment.
