This role is within the Platinum Group Metal Services business which is the leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world's largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy.

Your responsibilities

  • Receives work orders for material processing and works from written or oral procedures.

  • Sets-up and operates wire rod mill, bull blocks, shaped drawing machine for drawing wire, and shaped tape equipment.

  • Operates multi-strand wire annealing furnaces, batch annealing furnaces, and continuous annealing furnaces.

  • Controls time and temperature of annealing to obtain proper tensile strength or elongation.

  • Gets and installs proper dies and lubricants for correct processing.

  • Must recognize useable and unusable dies.

  • Analyze machine operation and changes dies, as required.

  • Weighs and records tare weights, gross weights, and net weights.

  • Provides proper packaging as specified on customer orders.

  • Sets-up and operates wire straightener.

  • Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • CNC Machine experience is highly preferable

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Make necessary adjustments on machines

  • Knowledgeable with batching orders

  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels

  • Experience using hand-held tools such as micrometers and calipers

  • Strong attention to detail
