JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties - Assists in developmental and operational testing of internal and external customer systems. Interface between instrumentation engineers and test customers to ensure that parametric data required is available for test data analysis and accurately reflects the system configuration and operational characteristics.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

  • Provide leadership and organization to large project teams

  • Provide Technical Expertise on the test process, and range environment and capability

  • Provide EW, RF and Protocol expertise in a specialized area

  • Suggest improvements to processes, systems, and procedures to obtain efficiencies

  • Develop data analysis tools, processes, or products for analysis

  • Provide analytical mentorship to junior analysts

  • Analyze pre-test predictions to design test events and profiles, define data collection requirements and go no-go criteria to meet test objectives; Brief mission execution plans

  • Conduct test activities from control centers and provide system performance monitoring

  • Order, QC and analyze data; Identify and resolve data anomalies and System Under Test performance variances; Present test findings and recommendations

  • Author test documents (Data Management and Analysis Plans, Test Support)

  • Provide related support as requested

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION -- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team in support of the United States Air Force's Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) program. This role will involve setting up complex combat scenarios and simulations to enhance the training and readiness of United States Air Force (USAF) personnel, as well as providing support to Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of F-22 tactics and employment, along with expertise in modeling and simulation software.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) activities by designing and executing simulation-based tests.

  • Utilize knowledge of F-22 tactics and employment to gather test requirements, validate cockpit simulators and create scenarios that challenge and enhance pilot skills or system capabilities.

  • Participate in research and development projects aimed at enhancing simulation capabilities and realism.

  • Collaborate with military personnel to ensure scenarios accurately reflect real-world situations and challenges.

  • Conduct analysis of simulation results to identify areas for improvement and optimize test and training effectiveness.

  • Control scenarios from a mission control room during exercises and evaluations.

  • Provide training and support to USAF personnel on utilizing simulation hardware/software and interpreting simulation results.

Desires:

  • In-depth knowledge of F-22 tactics, capabilities, and employment principles or a prior experienced fighter pilot with an ability to learn F-22.

  • Experience in Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) processes and methodologies is desirable

  • Previous experience working with modeling and simulation software, preferably in a military or aerospace context.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and simulation results.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in scenario development and analysis.

  • Familiarity with various modeling and simulation software platforms such as Cockpit Simulators, DIADS, NGTS, or similar.

WORKING CONDITIONS - This position is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE -- Completion of technical training and at least 14 years of related experience; or an Associate's degree and 11 years of related experience; or a related Bachelor's degree (engineering, math, computer science, or physics) and 8 years of related experience; or a related Master's degree and 6 years of related experience. The incumbent must understand concepts, principles, and practices of engineering and analysis to enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in technology to solve problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must maintain excellent communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access. Must be a U.S. citizen.

The expected pay range for this position is $92,164 to $130,000

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
