Summary:

The Operations Training Lead is responsible for delivering a People-First approach in welcoming and assimilating all PFX New hires. As new hires progress through onboarding to position specific skills, the trainer will act as a mentor and coach to ensure that New Hires adapt to the PFX culture and expectations of productivity, accuracy and working safely at all times.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsibilities include the introduction of PFX Culture, vision, mission, and values and promoting a safe work environment where people will want to stay, serve and grow.

  • Supports the Operations Management Team with training, leading and coaching other (more seasoned) warehouse personnel in the absence of management and when required by the Operations Manager.

  • Oversee the company training program including New Hire Orientation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using training materials including the learning management system LMS) and equipment to meet project goals based on OSHA, company policies, company compliance, and facility guidelines

  • Conduct new employee warehouse walk-throughs and administer related paperwork.

  • Train and certify employees on warehouse material handling equipment including Lydia Voice Pick Software, electric pallet jack, forklift and high reach truck and SOPs, as required.

  • Support development of training program/materials (including training manuals, and other educational materials) for conversion to Learning Management System (LMS) in collaboration with Training and Development Manager.

  • Responsible to effectively teach, coach and mentor trainees and operations employees on responsibilities as well as safety practices, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Emergency Action Plan.

  • Read work orders and receive verbal instructions for work assignments including but not limited to performing the Essential Functions and Accountabilities and Supporting Activities of Order Selector, Bulk/Dry Goods Receiver, Inventory Control Associate and office coordinator as required (see applicable Job Descriptions)

  • Support the Operations Management Team in leading by example, motivating and inspiring the warehouse employees to maintain high performance, Customer satisfaction, and safety standards

Supporting Job Functions:

  • Identify potential training needs and collaborate with the Training & Development Manager to develop applicable training material.

  • Observe & evaluate trainees to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training.

  • Modify methods and procedures or plan and establish new methods as necessary based on record keeping of trainee progress during and after training.

  • Accurately and punctually submit all forms and information needed for training, evaluation and employment.

  • Attend Staff, Safety Committee and other meetings as required.

  • Ensure consistency in procedures and processes across the workforce, promoting a standardized and reliable approach to tasks.

Experience & Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Previous experience in people management and leadership roles.

  • Ability to provide effective coaching and feedback.

  • Demonstrated adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to operate pallet jack, forklift and various warehouse equipment

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, preferably in a distribution environment
