Note: This position may be in direct support JT4, LLC or its teammate, Sprial Technology. Both organizations work together on the JTECH II contract.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

This position is a part of the JTECH II contract, a 15-year service contract that was awarded in July of 2018 and supports the Radio Frequency (RF) Software Systems Element at the Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF) at Edwards Air Force Base (AFB).

We are looking for a full-time, long-term, proactive and professional Software Engineer to join a diverse team of experienced engineers and technicians dedicated to the pursuit of Electronic Warfare (EW) superiority in support of protecting the Warfighter.

Essential Functions/Duties:

Primary role will be supporting the RF Software Systems Element. Candidates' primary responsibilities will be to provide engineering expertise and support that will help solve the unique challenges encountered at the BAF.   • Must be C# / Visual Basic (VB) / (Structured Query Language) SQL Server proficient.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing, updating, and maintaining, software used for EW Testing.

  • Overseeing the development of software documentation.

  • Managing the software development lifecycle.

  • Monitoring system performance.

  • Willingness to provide support to broader team, as necessary or requested.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Possess a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools and possess planning/organizing skills.

  • Familiarization with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Support and assist in developing test planning, test conduct, test processes, test reports, operation procedures, data deliverables and safety packages.

  • Configuring the battle space, post-test reconfigurations and preparing the virtual environment with customer defined threat laydowns.

  • Developing and implementation of threat configurations, SUT configurations and weapons configurations.

  • Operate and act as the role of a flyer/operator within the simulation environment.

  • Instruct, mentor and demonstrate to fellow flyers and engineers the threat system, operations, sensor systems, communication and navigation systems, and PVI.

  • Modeling and simulation support for the development, upgrade, operations and integration of constructive, non-real-time and virtual piloted simulators to the flying quality, air-frame, propulsion, avionics, sensors, weapon and electronic warfare mission areas.

  • Engineering support for test planning working groups, design reviews and any other related testing activities.

  • Support development of operational training programs and department policy.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Completion of technical training and at least 10 years of related experience; or an associates degree and 7 years of related experience; or a related bachelor's degree (engineering, math, computer science, or physics) and 4 years of related experience; or a related master's degree. The incumbent must understand concepts, principles, and practices of engineering and analysis to enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in technology to solve problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must maintain excellent communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access. Must be a U.S. citizen.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $81,286 to $129,209 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
