Operations and Technology Coordinator

WHO YOU ARE:

The Operations and Technology Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and supporting the technology infrastructure and systems for the school district. This includes installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software systems. The Technology Specialist also assists with technology planning and improvements.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Education and Experience:

  • Formal training or relevant experience in computer technology and networked information systems. While a minimum of 5 years' experience is preferred, with at least 3 years in a school setting being advantageous, we also welcome applicants with a combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expertise with computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and security tools

  • Skilled at installing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining technology equipment

  • Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities

  • Understanding of interactive classroom technology solutions and digital platforms

  • Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs. and work from heights

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to learn, evaluate, and apply new and emerging technologies

  • Ability to translate technical details to the general audience clearly

THE ROLE:

  • Inventory Management: track and document all technology equipment including computers, servers, networks, phones, peripherals, and A/V systems in the asset management system.

  • System Implementation & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, Chromebooks, phones, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, copiers, and other critical systems district-wide.

  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Perform hardware/software repairs and replacements to restore optimal functionality.

  • Technical Support: Serve as an accessible help desk resource, providing prompt and clear technical guidance to staff, teachers, and students regarding technology utilization.

  • Documentation & Training: Deliver comprehensive training that builds staff's technical proficiency across core hardware, software, and platforms integral to instruction and operations, including developing and conducting engaging workshops, videos, and hands-on sessions covering setup, navigation, best practices, and troubleshooting for critical systems like the Realtime student information system, GoGuardian classroom management software, and Clever single sign-on solution.

  • Strategic Innovation: Collaborate closely with the IT Director to strategically identify opportunities that enhance the district's technology capabilities. Evaluate technologies and provide recommendations on system upgrades and improvements aligned with evolving instructional and operational needs. Support the IT Director in assisting with the implementation of proposed innovations to cultivate a future-focused technology environment.

  • Web & Event Support: Maintain district websites with current information. Support technology needs for school activities, programs, and events during or after school hours.

  • Data and Reporting: Produce monthly reports that analyze district-wide technology usage data, offering insights into school-based account activities E.g. Realtime Parent Portal and Student Portal usage.

  • Family Communications: Maintain consistent and clear communications with families regarding district policies, expectations, and recommended practices surrounding student Chromebook usage.

  • Other duties as assigned related to technology specialist and support

  • Salary range: ($45,000 - $58,000) according to experience

  • Term of Employment: 12 months

  • Union: MPTEA / Unaffiliated
