The Operations Supervisor is directly in charge of the
Operations department, works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and is theliaison between operations personnel and upper management. The primaryresponsibility will be to supervise operation personnel, direct and implementoperation objectives that focus on the Safety, as well as maintaining thermaland chilled water production.
The Operations Supervisor will communicate and coordinateall operational activities throughout the department to ensure managementalignment. This individual will also be responsible for most administrativefunctions that are delegated by the Plant Manager.
The following areexpectations for the Operations Supervisor:
Focus on long term and short term goals inplanning, and implementation of repairs with Maintenance Supervisor;
Maintain thermal, chilled water, and coolingtowers water chemistry program and strategies in conjunction with plantoperations;
Provide positive leadership, motivation,direction, and training, create and implement operational procedures for plantand off-site equipment or other customer locations;
Manage operations vacation schedule and assignpeople for shift coverage.
Interface with customers for plant or mechanicalroom scheduled and unscheduled repairs;
Perform operational reports, must have strongcomputer skills using web based programs and Excel spread sheets;
Coordinates daily activities of the Operationsdepartment with the purpose of aligning the activities of the maintenance anddistribution departments;
If required, may work nights or weekends;
This position will provide technical guidance tothe operations department for troubleshooting any issues, as well as makingrecommendations to projects;
Reviews and evaluates site reports, records,logs, and graphs to confirm adequacy of present and projected energy needs;
Prepares reports for internal purposes, clientand regulatory agencies;
Participates in the human resource functions ofassigned team including hiring and firing, performance appraisals, coaching andcounseling team.

Able to work rotating shift, odd hours, andovertime;
Able to lead and interface effectively withothers.
NJ Stationary Gold Seal License or Red Seal withthe ability to get a Gold Seal within a year;
High school diploma or equivalent, B.S. inEngineering is a plus;
Detailed knowledge of operational practicesassociated with power plant operations or equivalent cogeneration plant;
Substantial knowledge and prior experience inindustrial environment, Prior supervisory experience in utility or heavyindustry as shift supervisor, or managing hourly-paid operations workers is aplus;
Working skill in the use of tools, electropneumatic/hydraulic controls, DCS controls, CEMS systems and computers;
Able to pass a State of New Jersey backgroundcheck;
Valid Driver's License;
Data analytical experience with Excel, Googlesheets or similar analytical tools.
