Under the direction of the Store Management, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for the control of cash related media, receiving, and inventory control paperwork, and the overall operational efficiency of the store's office. Administrative duties include; HR record keeping, new hire orientations, and follow up on corporate directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Protection of company assets

  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality of HR, financial, and other proprietary company documents

  • Work in conjunction with the Regional Field Team to ensure all associates are trained according to company standards and recorded on the Training Matrix

  • Ensure that Operations office is kept in standard working order; all files are set to company standards, and work area is clean, organized and audit ready at all times

  • Timely completion of all office generated paperwork, demonstrating the appropriate amount of urgency with all deadlines

  • Preparation and accurate recording of all media, register checkouts, and deposits

  • Preparation of payroll and participation in associate scheduling

  • Maintain updates to the item price file

  • Compliance with cash handling, receiving, safety and maintenance procedures

  • Timely communication to management of all corporate, associate and customer issues

  • Support Front End operations as needed

  • Ensuring all OSJL customers receive the best possible service on the sales floor and at the point of sale

  • Ensure that all warehouse and vendor merchandise returns are shipped according to schedule and inventory adjustments are entered into systems on a timely basis

  • Manage daily incoming and outgoing communication (dissemination and retrieval) to the home office, regional office, and others as needed.

  • Ensure that Damaged Merchandise information is handled daily as per procedure.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified applicant must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. Qualified applicant must be able to set and operate a ticket gun, cut case merchandise, count money, lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds, sign merchandise, display product on shelves and on the sales floor up to 6 feet, and climb up and down ladders. Qualified applicant also must offer flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability necessary to perform these duties.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum one-year retail store or similar experience in handling cash and office procedures

  • Previous cash audit/statistical experience helpful.

  • Previous supervisory experience helpful.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Solid written and verbal communications skills

  • Organizational efficiency with strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Basic keyboard skills, some knowledge of MS Office applications preferred

  • Ability to perform job functions with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality

  • Must be able to speak and comprehend English. Secondary language a plus

DCR is a dynamic agency, and is one of the largest park systems in the nation. The DCR system includes over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, trails and parkways. The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position of Forest & Park Supervisor II for Wells State Park. This position reports out of Wells State Park during the summer camping season and will report out of Brimfield State Forest in the winter. DUTIES: * Supervises Seasonal Staff, preparing their work duties, work schedules and performing seasonal performance reviews. Also responsible for training Seasonal Forest & Park Supervisors on their responsibilities for other seasonal staff such as Laborers and Park Interpreter. * Supervises the maintenance of assigned recreational areas, including such activities as grounds maintenance, building and equipment maintenance, snow and ice operations, and repair and removal of hazardous trees or limbs. * Inspects the condition of state-operated forest and park recreational areas and facilities to determine their suitability for public use, ensures compliance with safety standards and determines maintenance needs. * Patrols recreational areas and facilities to maintain security and ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations and policies. * Issues permits or gives permission for the use of recreational facilities, park areas, etc. and collects related fees. * Maintains records and prepares reports concerning assigned work to provide information and make appropriate recommendations. * Organizes and implements recreational and cultural programs, including sports competitions, nature walks, shows, etc. for the enjoyment of visitors to the parks. * Coordinates the activities and work of volunteers, court-referred individuals, etc. * Determines supply needs; operates and performs routine maintenance on various types of equipment and vehicles; provides information to the general public; interviews candidates for employment; provides on-the-job training; and uses small hand tools. * Performs related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE: * Ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished, assessing the capabilities of subordinates and available resources; controlling work through periodic reviews and/or evaluations; determining subordinates' training needs and providing or arranging for such training; motivating subordinates to work effectively; determining the need for disciplinary action and recommending disciplinary action. * Knowledge of the methods and techniques of forest and park management, including terminology. * Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in forest and park management. * Knowledge of the types and uses of materials and equipment used in forest and park maintenance. * Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs. * Skill in using hand-held power tools such as chain saws. * Skill in using hand tools such as hammers, pliers, etc. * Ability to understand, apply and explain the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities. * Ability to maintain accurate records. * Ability to prepare general reports. * Ability to write clearly and concisely. * Ability to give oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner. * Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. * Ability to establish rapport with persons from different ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgrounds. * Ability to maintain a calm manner in emergency situations. * Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress. * Physical stamina and endurance. Salaries are based upon full-time/40 hours worked per week. Work schedules and days off are at the discretion of the Regional Area Coordinator. This position may require working weekends and/or holidays.
