The Operations Supervisor manages the day to day operations of the Golden Valley 900 packaging team. This person will ensure that customer expectations are met through the appropriate allocation of people, equipment and assets in the most efficient/productive manner, while ensuring the facility complies with workplace safety regulations. This position will provide recommendations on facility maintenance and plant production improvements to meet financial objectives. This Operations Supervisor role will primarily work on our 1st shift operations and must be flexible to work a different shift, hours or weekends as business dictates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hires, trains, supervises, and develops employees; evaluates employee performance to ensure the efficient operation of the production and warehouse functions, and to drive a culture of high engagement.
Develops and coordinates the flow of materials through the production area, from raw materials to finished products with on time shipment of product to customers and/or other Lube-Tech facilities.
Responsible for operation programs around quality and safety of team members by working closely with Quality and Safety teams.
o Leads all activities in the production area to meet production goals, safety, quality, continuous improvement activities and cost objectives.
o Provide an emphasis on safety to ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations and provide a safe environment for team members.
o Leads safety committee and provides an emphasis on safety to ensure compliance with all pertinent Government regulations and provide a safe environment for employees.
o Assists in maintaining product quality through Finished Parts Document controls.
o Ensures employees are complying with OSHA safety rules and safe practices.
Accountable for achieving established key performance indicators striving for operational excellence with overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), total incident report (TIR), on time shipping, complete orders, customer service index, schedule compliance, safety security health environment (SSHE) compliance, 6 Sigma, and continual improvement initiatives.
Provides recommendations on facility maintenance, quality and/or plant improvements. Provides budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
Oversees plant cleanliness such that customer tours can be a positive marketing experience.
Enhances and develops training procedures to move the company to be best in class.
Participates in plant continuous improvement / change over reduction lean activities that address quality or production issues/bottlenecks.
Develops and implements operating procedures designed to eliminate production waste and improve quality.
Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine root causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
Manages and analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.
Completes daily walks and stand-up meeting "daily huddle" with production teams to improve employee engagement.

Experience and/or Training
Minimum of 5 years manufacturing operations experience related to production line operations including leadership skills around making hiring decisions, performance management and talent development.
Experience with ISO and Quality Management System (QMS) is desired.
Understanding of KPIs and manufacturing processes
Strong understanding of Quality, Safety Awareness and Lean Principles
Strong leadership, communication & organizational skills
Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
Inventory Management System (JDE)
Understand laptops and projectors for training purpose
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Work performed in a warehouse environment and in extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer months as well as outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat during summer months. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required for this position. Work hazards
