The primary function of MB Settlement Sr. Spec III is to perform detailed review of loans based on system templates, job aides and standard policy and procedures. The candidate will be required to ensure loans are in compliance with servicing and regulatory guidelines, and accurately document the outcome of their reviews. Working control reports and exception processes may also be required for this role. The candidate will be required to meet the established departmental production and quality goals.
Additionally, this role will assist management with the preparation and distribution of reports, attending status calls with internal and external business partners, and document loan activity in a detailed and concise manner.
Review loans with modification offers that are delayed due to various exceptions. Through thorough analysis of account detail, determine the correct course of action required to resolve exception.
By reviewing modification documents and underwriting decisions, identify document and data issues that may require borrower intervention or internal third party review and rework.
Process items through external software used by our GSE's, ie. HSSN or WPII.
Process needed transactions via Blacknight transactions, CCW, Task tracking or other means that would resolve processing delays.
Review and build cash processing history to communication applications requests or reversal as needed.
Generate pipeline reporting for specific work queues
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance):
Queue Management (75%)
Complete and manage Exceptions Queue ;
Pipeline and Aging report monitoring;
Loan level research
Technical Assistance and Team Support (10%)
Create daily reports and provide materials to internal business partners;
Assisting manager in researching escalated complex requests.
Subject Matter Representative (5%)
Assist Manager in conducting weekly calls with internal business partners
As Subject Matter Expert, Team Leads may conduct coaching / training to address process-related issues.
Partnership / Department / Committee / Calibration Meetings (5%)
Actively participate in all partnership, department, committee and/or calibration meetings;
Recommend plans to improve operations, productivity and/or cost efficiency
Partner with vendors to meet SLAs;
Assist with adhoc projects, requests, UAT, etc.
Knowledge and Experience:
4 - 5 years of prior experience in mortgage banking servicing, operations or originations. Specific knowledge of the policies and procedures pertaining to servicing, operations or originations is preferred
Prior experience in the Default Servicing space is preferred
Possesses an understanding of mortgage servicing policies and procedures, including investor, legal, and compliance guidelines.
Knowledge of the servicing systems or applications (i.e. MSP, VLS, CMS, Fortracs, CCW, Ivault, LPSDeskop, Lender Live, Info Source, Check Tracker, Default Workflow, MS Office)
Preferred cash, investor accounting, year end and/or default knowledge/expertise
