Division: Operations

Department: Annuity Operations

  • Responsible for effectively and accurately processing annuity in-force requests including routine and non-routine activities/transactions by drawing on multiple information sources to ensure all requirements for the request have been met.

  • Functions may include, but are not limited to: verifying various document types for accuracy and completeness; ownership of various team reports and non-document processing functions; responding to written inquiries from other departments and branch teams; ability to effectively communicate with financial advisors, internal headquarter associates and vendors.

  • Requires understanding of the brokerage and annuity industry and in-depth knowledge of area systems, processes, and procedures including those of related departments and divisions.

  • Serve as subject matter expert to others, both within and outside of the area. Share knowledge, ideas and solutions.

  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, leverage resources to implement and assist with change management.

  • Handle escalated issues requiring in depth research, communication with other areas of the firm, and the branch on resolution. Will be required to use discretion and judgment to determine risks when identifying solutions.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree is preferred.

  • 1-2 years relevant experience in an operations/processing position in the brokerage, banking or financial services industries is strongly preferred.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, stay organized to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality to ensure department goals and deadlines are met or exceeded.

  • Strong customer service focus that supports firm's commitment to exceed client needs and resolving client escalation timely and accurately.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office tools and spreadsheets is required.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to apply procedures and guidelines consistently is required. Must have ability to make proper judgment calls based on analysis of available information.

The Service Division offers a great working environment for those seeking a professional part-time or full-time opportunity as a service associate in a contact center. The Service Division's mission is to provide timely answers, guidance, and support for our clients, branch teams and home office associates to enable an ideal client experience. Associates hired into the Service Division will spend their first 2 – 4 months focused on learning their role and getting to know their team members. Each new associate is assigned a trainer, coach, and team leader. These individuals will all play a role in helping you acclimate to the company and become proficient in your role. As you become more proficient and as business needs change within the Service Division, associates have the opportunity and may be asked to move to other areas in the division to learn more topics. You would gain a broader understanding of the work done at Edward Jones to support our clients and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility supporting our branch teams and clients. Core hours of operation for most departments within the Service Division are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Central Time, with occasional Saturdays. Schedule assignments will vary depending on business need within each department. The ideal candidate must be comfortable serving as a phone service representative and spending a great deal of time answering phone calls.
