The Information Technology Practice aims to hire an Operations Specialist. This individual will be part of the Information Technology Diagnostics team and is responsible for service management, product marketing collaboration, and operational coordination across the Tech practice. The role is to ensure critical service delivery to existing and prospective members, through direct ownership of the responsibilities outlined below.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving Diagnostics Recruitment and Retention

  • Co-designing and supporting recruitment campaigns for IT Practice member diagnostic participation and coordinating related operational activities (campaign tracking, follow up, etc.)

  • Collaborating with program and marketing partners on broader communication messaging and service recruitment channels for diagnostics

  • Creating recruitment and retention playbooks and training collateral for the revenue community

  • Engaging directly with members as needed to enable diagnostic service consumption (e.g., status updates, deadline reminder calls, etc.)

Tracking, Analytics, and Reporting

  • Helping track member service utilization of IT Practice diagnostics

  • Identifying opportunities to improve information capture, segmentation and targeting capabilities for recruitment and retention efforts

  • Conducting light analytics on the success of diagnostic recruitment and retention efforts to inform future campaigns and strategies

Creating and Managing Diagnostics Collateral

  • Maintaining an updated library of internal collateral for use by commercial teams and practice-wide merchandising efforts in partnership with revenue and marketing

  • Maintaining the website presence for diagnostics (e.g., banners, bench marking tabs, and landing pages) to reflect accurate and up-to-date participation dates and collateral.

Process Efficiencies and Team Enablement

  • Identifying and implementing standardized operating procedures to engage diagnostic participants with the goal of ensuring consistent and high service levels across all diagnostics

  • Owning local implementation of global process, make suggestions on regional improvements focused on driving diagnostic utilization and operational excellence in globally

  • Assisting with one-off projects (e.g., creating sample reports)

  • Ability to multi task, prioritize and work across a variety of internal/external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness,

  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated poise and grace under pressure

  • Intellectual curiosity and dedication to mastering complex terrain and processes

  • Willingness to work outside the strict job description parameters, thinking creatively about how to provide the highest level of customer/member service

  • 1-3 years experience preferred

The VP, team manager for Gartner's Sales Research Practice will have leadership responsibility for the Peer & Practitioner research team dedicated to understanding the strategic approaches B2B organizations are taking, and should take to drive commercial performance. The Gartner Sales Practice, with the recent acquisition of CEB, is synonymous with frame-breaking research in the sales domain, including the original research and publication of The Challenger Sale and long, rich history of paradigm-shifting insights. The team works with more than 800 client organizations, spanning every major industry vertical, across the world. Our research helps clients address their unique challenges by relying on original research, benchmarks, and analysis delivered through an advisory model. The research will address shared challenges that are deemed the most important and span day-to-day roadblocks as well as long-term strategic objectives facing senior-most leaders in this area (e.g. the Chief Sales Officer, Head of Sales Operations, Head of Sales L&D, etc.) and their teams at Fortune 2000 companies. The research team provides these leaders with diagnostics and benchmarking, research insights, and tools to optimize their function and performance. These solutions are rooted in real practices that are producing verified results in real companies. Key Responsibilities * Understand key market trends and engaging with sales leaders to craft compelling research, insights, tools, experiences, and events * Be an active leader to a research team that will be leveraging quantitative and qualitative research to produce ground-breaking insights * Be a creative thought leader to create key differentiators for this research in an increasingly crowded thought leadership space * Partner with Sales, Advisory, and Marketing teams to support outreach, new business generation, and positioning of our research * Present research and insights at internal and external events and conferences * Partner with the Gartner PR team for interviews with top media outlets * Serve as the primary talent manager for the Peer & Practitioner research team by selecting, coaching, and developing direct reports and more junior staff Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree desired * Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience, preferably in research, advisory, management consulting, or related businesses * High-level knowledge of sales and sales operations issues is preferred, with the ability to build a deep understanding of Gartner's product offerings and research in these areas * Superior analytical skills, as demonstrated by a track record of thought leadership and problem solving activities, preferably within a consulting and/or research environment * Excellent oral communications, writing and presentation skills, and a deep interest in developing insights and pragmatic research solutions for top executives grappling with strategic decisions and other business issues * Demonstrated ability to teach, including technical ideas, and to engage executive-level clients * Leadership mindset: the ability to inspire a team to achieve great things by creating and communicating a vision for the future * Consistently uses Gartner business goals and market realities to make resource allocation decisions in the face of uncertainty * Ability to identify and select team members who deliver both strong individual and team performance * Demonstrated experience structuring, guiding, and coordinating the efforts of direct reports and other team members to achieve business goals * Ability to translate overall strategies, objectives, and assignments into concrete, actionable plans.
