Faith Radio is seeking an innovative Operations Specialist to join our expanding team and help assist with the growth of our digital and terrestrial radio signals. In this role, you'll support the Operations Director with daily network operations, manage programming and automation systems, and oversee podcast and live video stream production. What will I do in this position?

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and oversee the weekly delivery of Faith Radio programming; including programming captures and program promos.

  • Conduct daily log checks for all Faith Radio stations to confirm breaks filled and programs loaded.

  • Provide assistance for automated programming, live and pre-recording show and clock templates.

  • Oversee daily show promo production and distribution. Assist Faith Radio Operations Director in spot placement and log reconciliation, program schedules, special programming, and feature changes.

  • Download new programs, features and specials as needed.

  • Assist Operations Director in managing podcast automation process for daily and weekly Faith Radio program podcast files.

  • Assist in video projects as assigned including live video of radio shows, livestreams, video recording and editing.

  • Assist Operations Director in training, scheduling, and supervising of student Network Operations Assistants and oversight of their daily tasks.

  • Serve as backup to Operations Director as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and solve various technical problems regarding automation systems, satellite, or FTP files.

  • Assist Northwestern Media Engineering with troubleshooting, solving technical issues, installation of new equipment and transmitter projects as needed.

  • Provide Zetta support for Faith Radio staff as needed.

  • Assist in providing daily coverage on all Twin Cities based transmitter logs and Faith stations operating out of the Twin Cities studios. Monitor engineering alarms/EAS alerts and issue emergency weather reports.

What will it take to succeed in this position?

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum of two years of previous related experience required

  • Digital equipment knowledge a plus

  • Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind, and tactful manner

  • Ability to espouse licensee's goals

  • Ability to respond quickly in a professional manner in time-sensitive situations

  • Ability to perform technical and programming responsibilities

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to troubleshoot technical issues

  • Ability to navigate the Internet to gather and/or retrieve information Knowledge and familiarity with radio equipment, operations, and techniques

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Knowledge and understanding of FCC rules relating to broadcast stations and operations Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
