Job Summary:

Coordinates daily workflow and assist staff; creates procedures, conducts training, and completes quality assurance; ensures compliance with regulatory requirements; prepares, reviews and analyzes operational reports; participates in the development, planning and implementation of project initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps coordinate daily functions and duties including assisting staff with daily work flow and ensuring that specific jobs are completed in a timely manner

  • Acts as a liaison between ECMC and servicers who have interest in the functions of the department

  • Acts as point of contact for information requests from internal customers up to senior leadership

  • Develops and maintains department procedures and communications

  • Conducts training of unit staff

  • Monitors, evaluates, and provides feedback on the quality of work performed by staff to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Prepares, creates and analyzes data and publishes reports for operations support and department performance metrics; analyzes trends and makes strategic and tactical recommendations to business managers for improving results

  • Develops complex ad hoc reports within the required deadlines

  • Establishes and develops process to ensure the timely gathering, analyzing, and reporting of accurate and comprehensive data

  • Analyzes existing reports and makes adjustments to enhance their functionality or to adapt to changing requirements

  • Resolves data inconsistencies or inaccuracies through contact and collaboration with internal customers

  • Works closely with Senior Operations Analysts from other areas on departmental projects and work requests, tracking and reporting on progress to ensure timely implementation

  • Stays current with regulations to ensure departmental practices comply with applicable regulations, laws and statutes

  • Maintains confidentiality of information regarding individual performance

  • In absent of the managers act as the point of contact for staff

  • May participate in creating work request and conduct system testing

  • Complies with all ECMC Group Policies

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High School or GED
  • 3+ years experience in business processes/operations
  • 2+ years experience in a lead or similar role

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Claims processing experience

  • Experience working in the student loan industry

  • Knowledge of the student loan industry/regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Strong research and analytical skills to resolve complex problems

  • Intermediate computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Intermediate math skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Displays and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems using sound judgment. Knows who to involve and takes appropriate action

  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively

  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, control and prioritize work

  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities to meet deadline

Preferred:

  • Broad knowledge of FFELP laws, regulations and requirements

  • Reports to (title only) Mgr Claims

  • Direct Reports (titles reporting to this position) N/A

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment that requires normal safety precautions (such as in typical office or administrative work).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sedentary work: Job involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing etc. may be minimally required.

TRAVEL

Rarely if at all less than 10% of the time.
