Summary:

Our internship positions allow college/university students to learn our industry, right where the action takes place. This will be a hands-on experience for students, to learn the industry from the ground up. You'll work alongside some of the best in the aggregate business. This a great opportunity for students with minimal or no mining industry experience to gain first-hand knowledge of an underground stone operation.

Position primarily located in Dallas, TX and support a combination of operations in the North Texas and Oklahoma areas.

What to Expect:

Interns will enter an approximately 10-week rotational internship program, allowing for ownership of a project, allowing the individual to learn the Aggregates/Ready Mix business and develop professional skills including leadership, time management, and relationship building. The goal of the Internship program is to provide individuals with hands-on experience in Operations Services and allow them to explore governmental affairs, community engagement and municipal zoning and permitting disciplines.

Essential Functions:

• Adheres to and enforces ethical, safety and environmental measures

• Becomes familiar with the operations of an Aggregate Quarry/Ready Mix Plant, understanding the complete production process.

• focusing on function skills from the governmental affairs, community engagement and municipal zoning and permitting disciplines.

• Will work with the Zoning/Permitting Manager, the Director of Government Affairs & Community Relations and the VP, Operations Services tracking legislative issues, assist with municipal permit application preparation and associated operational planning, and assist with community engagement planning.

• Becomes familiar with the traits of high-performing managers in Martin Marietta.

• Ensures all activities are performed in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values, and in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct

Qualifications and skills:

Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree in:

• Public Policy

• Communications

• Marketing

• Related Disciplines

Candidate must also have:

• a valid driver's license.

• Prior full-time experience is preferred, not required

• the ability to learn technical processes, high-level verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Working Conditions

Majority of time will be outside and may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
