The Role

The Operations Senior Associate is responsible for administrative, tax process, office finance, internal training tasks, and office-wide social events. The ideal candidate is an excellent project manager, successfully balancing strong multitasking, organization, and interpersonal skills. The Senior Associate reports to an Operations Director.

Primary job responsibilities include:

Administrative and Facilities Responsibilities:

  • Supervision, coordination, and training of the Client Team Support (CTS) Group, including managing daily/weekly schedules.

  • Plan and coordinate off-site meetings, office-wide volunteer events, and in-office activities. Additionally, during busy season coordinating office lunches, late night, and weekend meals.

  • Oversee office space and desk reservations for staff, as well as building space use report and calculating projected space needs.

  • Other day-to-today tasks include monitoring/updating local intranet page, vendor maintenance and contracts, overseeing ordering, e.g. supplies, sending office-wide email updates.

Tax Process Responsibilities:

  • Development/execution of tax-related procedures, including coordinating improvements to the assembly and tax return client delivery processes.

  • Track office-wide deadlines of all client tax returns and communicate filing status to the tax teams.

  • Oversee CTS Group on client intake process and preparation. Review Chicago office contracts and client records for accuracy.

  • Partner with Andersen National Tax Technology and Automation (ANTTA) to successfully rollout technology updates to the local office.

Local Office Training Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between national and local training champions, planning, scheduling, and oversight of all local office staff trainings.

  • Develop, update, and monitor the local office training calendar.

  • Coordinate in-office and virtual set-up of all local office trainings, including sending out and managing office-wide Outlook invitations.

  • Develop improvements to local office training procedures and offerings under the direction of the Managing Director training champions.

  • Manage communications on training resources and expectations to Interns and new hire groups.

Office Finance Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving employee expenses, which includes developing/maintaining office-wide finance policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate and submit vendor invoices to Andersen - Chicago Asset Management Team.

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Metro Chicago, the expected salary range for this role is $83,200 to $93,300; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Professional services firm experience is a plus

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Outstanding multitasking and organizational skills

  • Strong people skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects/tasks with an attention to detail

  • Initiative to identify challenges and develop solutions in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of the Firm

  • Due to the nature of this position, this role requires the candidate to be in office a minimum of three days per week, and during certain business cycles up to four plus days per week.

  • This position supports tax department processes, therefore knowledge or prior experience in tax or public accounting is a plus, but not a requirement
