The Project Manager PMO Operations is responsible for running projects and completing continuous improvement activities across TaylorMade, with a focus on our golf ball manufacturing facility. This position identifies opportunities, facilitates key projects defined by the Global Operations Strategy Deployment, and drives company-wide continuous improvement initiatives related to Global Supply Chain. This position reports directly to the Associate Director PMO Operations and is located in Liberty, SC.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Manages projects related to North American Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly & Distribution, which aim to close gaps in Global Operations Strategy Deployment metrics
Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, alignment on expectations and deliverables, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
Works with managers and project stakeholders to establish and execute improvement plans and strategies
Ensures the effective application of Lean process capabilities across all functions of the organization
Accountable for capturing and communicating financial benefits resulting from performance-based improvements through data collection, problem analysis and effective project implementation
Leads projects aimed at achieving and improving base facility and HQ KPI's
Defines, organizes activities around, and creates an environment of continuous improvement
Leads, trains, and mentors' others in Lean and continuous improvement methodology
Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
Delegates tasks to project team members who are best positioned to complete them
Uses sound judgement and effective decision-making skills when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Communicates with executives/leadership to keep the project aligned with their goals
Performs quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Ability to guide and lead non-technical personnel to technical solutions
Working knowledge of manufacturing and/or supply chain/distribution methods
Ability to lead implementation of solutions in areas of business not under scope of responsibility
Demonstrated business financial acumen, organizational skills, project planning and management and team building
Highly developed analytical, reasoning, and decision-making skills
Advanced skills in troubleshooting/problem solving in area of expertise
Demonstrated implementation of root cause analysis and solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work across teams and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks is required
Passion for golf and strong golf acumen strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to quickly learn various warehouse management and supply chain related software
Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
Proven success working with all levels of management
Excellent presentation skills
Strong ability to multitask and seek guidance if support is needed
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field of study or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in project or program management and continuous improvement
Professional Certifications such as PMP, CSM, MPM, PPM, PgMP, PRINCE2, Lean, 5s, or other Quality Management Systems
Experience with associated tools, e.g. Smartsheet's, ClickUp, process mapping, VSM, PDCA, A3, 4C's, facilitating and other tools
Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred
Experience in developing platforms for internal processes
Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets
Advanced computer experience in data processing/evaluation and analysis
Working familiarity with the Toyota Production System strongly preferred
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Normal office conditions with heavy phone and computer usage
Regular production, manufacturing, and distribution center conditions; exposure to fumes, solvent, dirt, dust, noise and changing temperature conditions
Requires some travel: up to 15% overnight travel within the US
Physically able to lift 30 lbs., bend, stoop, reach, and perform routine tasks as required
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
