Job Overview

Responsible for aiding the Media team in executing internal and client-facing projects. The Operations Project Manager will be responsible for creating new and improving existing processes, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation, and expediting the initial launch of a new advertiser or new channel opportunity and be responsible for quality assurance, as well as helping Operations with technical set up, monitoring and optimizations of all accounts.

Job Impact

The Operations Project Manager helps drive our Media business by working across client engagement, partner management, and engineering teams. This person will be responsible for internal and client-facing project management, driving projects to completion and ensuring customer satisfaction, internally and externally. The Associate Project Manager will assist in creating and implementing systems and processes for the Media organization.


The MCM Operations team is responsible for the tactical implementation of advertising campaigns, optimization and monitoring. We are key to positive experiences that delight our customers; especially when they first start their partnerships and maintaining that relationship for the long term. We ensure that each client sees optimal return on their investment with us with solid performance and quality in their campaigns. Our top priority is client satisfaction for both our internal and external clients.

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Large scale projects, such as migrations, large or complex advertiser-wide optimizations, system feature updates/configurations, client tests, etc.

  • Responsible for new client, line of business, and channel opportunity launches and system setups based on the client needs and system limitations.

  • Work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth sales pipeline to onboarding process.

  • Support the Media Organization with process implementation and improvement.

  • Quality Assurance monitoring for newly launched campaign or campaign modifications.

  • Project manage enterprise-level client special projects.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal support.

  • Manage communications to executive level audience.

  • Execution of tactical campaign management strategies with a focus on revenue growth & quality.

  • Revenue & quality monitoring to ensure success of all system changes.

  • Works closely with Engineering and Development teams to understand business problems/bottlenecks to develop new tools, system features, processes and workflows in order to increase efficiency and communication.

  • Collaborate with other Marchex employees and teams to ensure strong products and that all functional concerns are addressed for internal tools/UIs.

  • Assist in training new operations team members on internal systems, external tools, and best practices.

  • Create/update training documentation for larger workflows and processes, for Arc and CSI.

  • Execute deep troubleshooting through data/system investigation and coordinate with Operations, Customer Success and Engineering to resolution.

  • Support the Guiding Principles and vision of the company and the team through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience of business operations experience, preferable in the technology and or search industry.

  • Experience training on internal UI's and working in database-driven applications.

  • Possess beginning/intermediate knowledge of SQL, Data Architecture, Jira, Tableau

  • Possess strong knowledge of Excel

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with technical and non- technical staff across the entire company, including product managers, business management, leads, and peers.

  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and rapidly changing requirements.

Working Conditions

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.

These projects may be related and part of a larger program of projects. This role will partner with technical product management, architecture, engineering, and the business to provide leadership in delivering innovative digital solutions to our customers. This position will not only focus on the planning, communication and coordination of the project but also beyond the end date to the transitional and operational elements. This role requires a strong user focus.<br /> <br /> ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br /> <br /> Chief promise keeper for projects keeping an end to end<br /> perspective for the teams. Ultimately responsible for delivery of<br /> projects by driving quarterly commitments to completion on time, on<br /> budget, and on quality.
