Northrop Grumman offers a challenging career opportunity in our Operations Planning and Control team within the Mission Systems sector at our Salt Lake City, UT facility. Working in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, expanding the boundaries of possibility and reshaping the world we live in. We are seeking an Operations Project Manager (OPM) level 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between operations factory management, program management, business management, engineering, MRP scheduling/planning, production control, mission assurance, and global supply chain.

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Coordinate and plan support of factory production schedules in support of Annual Operating Plan and Indicated Final program management and business management targets.

  • Oversee inputs of new demand orders into the planning system and coordinate, forecast, and report on performance to contract schedules.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving, and leads project teams as required to ensure performance to objectives and address risk

Basic Qualifications for a Band 3:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; or 4 Years of relevant experience with Masters Degree

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • SAP experience

  • Experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Operations, Scheduling, or Production Control arenas

  • Excellent presentation skills to supporting teams, managers, and executives

Preferred Qualifications for a Band 3:

  • Master's degree (completed or in progress)

  • Prior Project Management experience coordinating diverse multifunctional teams

  • Microsoft Project experience

  • Familiar with data querying (Oracle, based queries) and data analysis for schedule, cost, and quality based data

  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) experience

  • Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) programs

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of experience; or 8 Years with Masters

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • SAP experience

  • Experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Operations, Scheduling, or Production Control arenas

  • Excellent presentation skills to supporting teams, managers, and executives

Preferred Qualifications for a Band 4:

  • Master's degree (completed or in progress)

  • Prior Project Management experience coordinating diverse multifunctional teams

  • Microsoft Project experience

  • Experienced with data querying (Oracle, based queries) and data analysis for schedule, cost, and quality based data

  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) both contributor and leadership experience

  • Experience managing Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) programs

This position coordinates internal and external resources to fulfill contractual project requirements, communicates with customers on contractual and financial issues, is responsible for entire projects or sub-sections as assigned by Group Leader. Typical project size managed is less than $2,000,000 Essential Job Functions * Travel to job sites as required, act as site liaison for WesTech as needed * Review project estimates and prepare job control sheets * Become familiar with details of the purchase order or contract * Responsible for following the project manager checklist and updating as milestones are met * Prepare job review materials * Conduct detail review meetings * Prepare material for post job review after jobs are complete * Lead contact with the customer in coordinating schedules, project requirements, shipments and special needs * Update Group Leader at weekly meeting on the status and progress of each job for inclusion in the group schedule * Prepare and submit monthly updated job price review sheets * Prepare purchase requisitions; work with the purchasing group in deciding key buying issues * Inspect or provide for inspection of buyouts and main equipment * Follow up on accounts receivable issues * Coordinate with Group Leaders for proper re-sourcing on projects * Lead back charge negotiations up to $5000 or 2% of the contract value of project section, whichever is less * Understand and comply with ISO procedures * Create and manage a job schedule * Domestic and international travel is required * Conduct detail review meetings * Provide assistance to customer through installation and start-up period * Handle field problems as necessary * Be able to do a project estimate and properly review and approve those done by Group Estimators * Perform start up and operator training on group products, including basic process training * Understand intermediate project related calculations * Check and approve basic project related calculations * Review contract or purchase order terms and be able to negotiate them successfully with customers * Approve detail drawings * Capable of acting as an Assistant Group Leader * Mentor other employees * The following requirements pertain to multi-section projects, including job sections spanning more than one group: o Create and maintain a detailed project schedule for all aspects of the project o Track and maintain current costs and change orders for multiple sections of the project. Submit and resolve change order requests for all job sections o Invoice and collect on all sections of the project o Direct Document Control of all drawings and documents for all sections on a project including tracking of drawing status o Review drawings and documents for all sections for conformance to project specific and customer standards prior to submittal to customer. Also check drawings for agreement between sections where applicable. o Review and clarify all customer comments on all job sections. Resolve and/or communicate changes on one section that affect other sections. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's degree completed in an engineering related field or equal experience * Experience: At least three years of related experience * Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Windows applications. * In addition to engineering proficiency, individual must be dedicated to see projects through from their inception to closeout (years). * Detail oriented, well organized with strong communication skills. * Possess a positive attitude. * Ability to work on own and manage time appropriately Preferred Qualifications * Experience with wastewater treatment design * Experience with AutoCAD, MathCAD, Inventor. * Working knowledge of WesTech products and process application of each. * Familiar with reading and interpreting drawings * An understanding of Industrial and Municipal sales * Shop experience in layout, welding, fabrication * P.E.
