Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Capable of resolving complex issues/problems utilizing comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Manage the development, and monitor execution, of manufacturing schedules

  • Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives

  • Develop and recommend short- and long-range objectives, consistent with organization guidelines

  • Coordinate operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areas

  • Ensure operations conform to the organization's policies and procedures, values, and federal, state, and local regulations

  • Establish, monitor, and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling

  • Coordinate team members recruitment and selection, career development, and performance assessment

  • Drive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma

  • Continually identify and assess risks and deploy proactive mitigation plans

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Attend applicable internal or external customer meetings

  • Participate on special project teams

  • Support and lead new product introduction activities

  • Maintain knowledge of current manufacturing and continuous improvement trends in the industry

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, management or related field, or equivalent

  • Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Communications CNI Supplier Program Manager Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Job Description: The CNI Supplier Program Manager spans all phases of the program execution life cycle and assumes ultimate responsibility and accountability for its success as described by the following: * Proactively coordinates with stakeholders and direct contributors/partners to effectively manage the overall cost, quality, and schedule performance of the program * Effectively manages change and program evolution with minimal impact to cost, schedule, and affordability * Drives risk analyses and mitigation activities leading to assured program performance and success * Identifies opportunities and executes realization strategies improving affordability and operational efficiency * Identifies and coordinates interfaces, integration requirements and relationships (both internal and cross-functional) * Secures and retains the required team resources to effectively manage the program * Ensures all assigned members work cohesively as they execute their responsibilities Responsibilities: * Proposal management and supplier/partner negotiation for program critical efforts and acquisitions * Cost account management duties which include performance prediction, variance tracking/reporting, and cost/schedule performance surveillance * Proactive management of risks and issues to include mitigation strategy execution, program exposure reduction, and closure activities * Affordability focused through identification of strategies and opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency through strategic and targeted initiatives and program execution strategies * Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement * The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum 2 year experience in managing Program Contract values in excess of $10 Million * Basic knowledge of Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) communications systems * Basic knowledge in the areas of avionics bus interfaces and integrated avionics systems * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Minimum of 4 years of experience in aerospace industry including demonstrated experience in the areas of environmental compliance, requirements management, and project leadership for large acquisition projects (>$10M) * Demonstrated experience in leading product development and compliance for environmental and safety requirements IAW MIL-STD-810G and DO-160G * Proven leadership experience in customer facing situations with large cross-functional teams * Expertise in requirements and change management using DOORS * Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification * Lean Six Sigma Certification * Master of Science in Engineering (Electrical/Computer Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace) or related STEM discipline (Physics, Mathematics) and/or Master of Business Administration * Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
