The Infra Data Center Business Support team leverages operational efficiencies to develop effective solutions that support all aspects of data center operations. One critical pillar of the team's role is the adherence to and continuous improvement of compliance functions.
Our most critical area of compliance is the Data Eradication (ERAD) Program, which ensures that all user data is appropriately handled and eradicated prior to leaving Facebook's possession. In this role you will work closely with the ERAD Operations Program Manager to ensure that our compliance operational programs are accurate, efficient, and scalable as we continue to grow our global Data Center footprint. This position will be located in either Reston, VA, Papillon, NE, Fort Worth, TX with some domestic travel required (5-10%).
Operations Program Analyst - ERAD Intern, Infrastructure Data Centers Responsibilities
Become the process subject matter expert on the internally developed storage media tracking software.
Provide project management oversight for software modifications, ensure continued compatibility, and manage integration efforts to Facebook data center tooling.
Ensure regional workforce has resources to work effectively: 1. Run weekly program syncs to maintain proactive stance/awareness about issues 2.
Support equipment needs (handle preventative maintenance and repairs, requests for supplemental items required to maintain operations, conduct market research on latest technology/best solutions for our fleet) 3. Update guidance, process flows, policies/procedures on ERAD wiki 4. Compile and disseminate bi-weekly reporting
Coordinate and manage point of presence asset disposal and asset reclaim requests from cross-functional teams. Work closely with vendor to ensure efficient pickups and ERAD compliance.
Manage continuous improvement projects: 1. Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices, and prioritize resources in the areas that will deliver the greatest impact 2. Conduct business process reengineering reviews to innovate business processes and define ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors/manufacturers to coordinate failure analysis efforts 4. Review compliance exception justifications and disposition to right team 5. Work with the Data Center and POP teams to understand when and how procedures need to be amended (and how they can continue to be optimized)
Minimum Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, or related field
Ability to quickly adapt, learn new skill sets, and be able to create a solid understanding of operational challenges
Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills with a clear focus under pressure
Must be proactive with proven ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate attention to detail
Independent and thorough in examination and analysis, along with being consensus-building and results-oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and "roll-up the sleeves" type of collaboration within a diverse, global, cross-functional team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Resourceful, action-orientated with the ability to get things done and overcome obstacles
Preferred Qualifications
Business analyst experience with strong capabilities in requirement analysis techniques/methodologies, and a demonstrated track record of delivering business value using technology solutions in high-tech operations space
