Operations Planning Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Planning Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUPERVISES: Inventory Control Facilitators

The Operations Planning Supervisor manages the creation of parts and process specifications to adhere to metallurgical and planning practices.

The Operations Planning Supervisor essential functions include:

• Oversee the monthly warehouse inventories

• Manage the Virtual claim process

• Manage Inventory Control Facilitators

• Coordinate with Technical Department when changes in methodology occur.

• Coordinate with Advanced Engineering for any experimental metal requests.

• Participate in departmental safety training and initiatives.

• Comply with all safety, quality and environmental regulations.

EDUCATION

Undergraduate degree in Business, Metallurgy, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

This individual will possess:

• 3 to 5 years previous production planning experience.

• Metallurgical specification knowledge a plus.

• Strong PC skills, including Windows, Word, and Excel.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

• Proven ability to work in teams.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Approximately 90% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 10% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
