EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT

The Office of the City Council President is seeking an Executive Assistant to coordinate and provide high-quality administrative support to the executive team. This role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of office operations and its success.
SALARY: $68,289.00 - $109,521.00

Work Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm with occasional evening and weekend work

Reviews and prioritizes all incoming requests for the Council President's appearances, interagency meetings, business, legislative and community meetings.
Acts as liaison between the Council President and outside interests (i.e., company CEOs/Presidents, citizens, government relations executives, elected officials) to finalize all logistics for events.
Acts as the interoffice liaison between the outside entity, organization, and agency requesting the Council President's attendance and the office staff assigned to attend the event with the Council President or on his behalf.
Collaborates with scheduler from the council offices to discuss outside events in which the Council President can support with his attendance.
Engages with the City to proactively schedule the Council President to attend community meetings/events.
Collaborates with the Director of Community Affairs to assign staff to either attend with or to represent the Council President at meetings and events.
Meets weekly with the Council President to discuss his calendar of events and availability for future events/meetings.
Meets weekly with the Executive Staff to discuss the Council President's calendar and suggested events/meetings.
Prepares and maintains daily calendar.
Confirms all daily appointments.
Collaborates with the Communications and Community Affairs teams to oversee the preparation of event/meeting binders the Council President uses to prepare for events.
Initiates the preparation of and provide preliminary verbiage for Resolutions.
Takes and transcribes weekly staff minutes.
Assists Chief of Staff with scheduling.
Drafts administrative letters.
Prepares and arrange for the preparation of meetings/events.
Proofreads and edits others' letters.
Acts as backup for Executive Assistant to the Council President
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the Baltimore City Council, the legislative body of government
Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
