Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction primarily software-defined and work towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labor.

We're a small team of mostly engineers (coming from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson and Shopify) that is looking to expand the non-engineering part of our business.

About you and this role

We are looking for an Operations / Office Manager to join our team, bringing robots and automation to the construction industry, to create affordable, high quality housing for everyone.

You will be joining a ~15 person team and helping us with our fast expansion plans for 2024 and on. The ideal candidate is interested in or has already worked at an early-stage and high-growth company and understands the pace in which things move. You'd be able to wear multiple hats in a day and pitch in where needed with a no-task-is-too-small mentality. This could be anything from helping to source and hire candidates, setting-up our new, even more awesome, office space or organising a team event. You will be supporting the Head of Operations in this role. Your day-to-day will be very diverse but some examples of things you will work on are:

What you'll be working on

  • Kitting out new office space from scratch; from interior design to supplier management

  • Running new and current office processes. e.g. creating and implementing processes for package and inventory management

  • Invoice and expense management; chasing suppliers and team members for complete invoicing and providing monthly for our accountant

  • Support with recruitment of our expanding team. Actively sourcing candidates and managing the candidate pipelines and scheduling interviews for the team

  • Organise team on and off sites and quarterly team events

  • Help support our construction projects; this could be anything from people and vehicle logistics to delivering a spare part to a construction site

  • Onboarding new employees and helping relocate new hires

  • Occasionally helping with calendaring and scheduling tasks

What we're looking for

  • A quick-learner who is willing to jump head-first into projects

  • Comfortable multi-tasking within a day

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with great attention to detail

  • Experience with tools such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Notion and keeping shared online resources as neatly organized as the office. Comfortable picking up new tools quickly (e.g. recruiting software)

  • Proactive and dependable self-starter, with lots of drive and initiative to get things done

  • Preferably Dutch speaker, or come prepared to tell us how you would work around this

  • Fluent verbal and written English

  • BSc or above preferred, 1 year work experience minimum

  • Experience in start-up recruitment, operations or office management a bonus but not a necessity
