New York City Operations Manager

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the responsibilities of the New York City Operations Manager are below:

  • P&L responsibility for New York operations; all roles in NYC ultimately report to this role.
  • Set-up and oversee delivery and fleet operations, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, on-time delivery and maintenance
  • Collect and analyze operational data on a daily and weekly basis and demonstrate how continuous improvement measurements are improving operations
  • Recruitment and training of riders and mechanics; ensure all team members are cross trained using updated SOPs
  • Handle relationships and negotiations with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Fill-in when others are not available. Among other duties, this includes training or dispatching riders, loading or delivering products, maintaining rigs, and handling customer calls.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Operations or Industrial Engineering, or have relevant experience; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a team of 30 or more people, preferably in logistics or precision manufacturing
  • Detail-oriented, able to handle the complexities of hardware, software, and service
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; lean manufacturing or six sigma training is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in cost reduction and operational improvements
  • Expert at analyzing data using Excel, Google Sheets, or BI software
  • Evidence of recent hands-on recruiting and coaching of front-line workers, preferably in the delivery or maintenance fields, is required
