To learn about our company and our culture go to Sherwin.com/careersCORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKSThis position is responsible for the manufacturing and packaging of high quality finished goods, quick response and cycle times, as well as the constant improvement of manufacturing efficiencies as required by the plant operation schedule. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with all state and federal laws, maintaining plant manufacturing programs within budget, continuous improvement in the quality of our products, and directing and driving all company continuous improvement efforts in the 5 focus areas of Operational Excellence: Safety, People, Service, Quality and Cost.1.Major Tasks Performed: * Direct the safe manufacturing of production orders. * Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives. * Direct Supervisors and Team Leaders and others to assure safe, timely, cost effective production and packaging operations. * Develop and execute plant manufacturing budgets. * Analyze workforce requirements. * Responsible for ensuring that all training programs are conducted properly. * Insure that high quality products are produced through Plant Quality Systems Program. * Maintain good working relationships with all employees. * Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees. * Provide leadership for the successful day to day operation of the facility. * Foster and operate in a continuous improvement environment. * Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals. * Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity. * Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed.2.Principal Accountabilities: * Zero lost time accidents. * Meet or exceed budget guidelines. * Keep subordinates informed on current issues and maintain positive working environment. * Maintain safe work environment. * Achievement of safety, quality, service, and production goals.POSITION REQUIREMENTS* FORMAL EDUCATION:* Required:

  • * Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent experience. * Preferred: * Masters Degree* KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:* Required:* 5 + years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing or distribution facility. * Previous experience/strong understanding of the P&L, and basic understanding of financial and accounting practices. * Strong PC skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends. * Previous experience/knowledge of paint or chemical processing. * Previous experience implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement. * Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills. * Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills. * Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering. * Previous experience/broad understanding of Safety systems and enforcement of Safety rules and policies. * Ability to work alternate shift patterns. * Preferred: * Green Belt or Black Belt Certification * Process Safety Management (PSM)* Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs. * Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.* A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible. * Strong analytical and decision-making skills. * Ability to work with teams and lead decision making processes in a team environment. * Drive for results, champion change and innovate.* TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:* Preferred: * Resolve manufacturing and scheduling conflicts in order to service all customers (internal and external). * Create and enhance safe working environment. * Assure proper training has taken place for new hires as well as on-going training and development for all production employees. * Lead employees in creating working systems that result in the simultaneous achievement of safety, quality, service, and production goals. * Improve and maintain housekeeping excellence on a continuous basis. * Maintain Preventative Maintenance schedules within acceptable tolerances. * Ensure that all employees follow all applicable process SOPs, test methods and EHS guidelines to ensure a safe workplace and the quality of production batches. * Actively participate in root cause and corrective action implementation to remove production constraints and continuously improve production quality and employee safety.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
