Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager for our Salt Production Facility in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will be managing and leading a 24/7 operations team of operators to ensure safe commissioning, startup and day to day operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and coach a team of 24/7 operators (including shift management)
Coordinate with EHS (Env, Health, Safety) team to write Job Hazard Analyses for all complex hazardous work
Lead and conducting Pre-Job briefs to various stakeholders.
Understand Hazards associated with the testing required.
Write, update, review and MOC procedures
Collaborate with Teams
Train and mentor operators for 24/7 operations
Develop Operator Training Materials and program.
Help Train and mentor Operators on DCS, high temperature pilot systems, pumps, valves, heaters blowers, and compressors.
Support Advanced Troubleshoot of all equipment, electrical and instrumentation issues
Periodically makes rounds of the plant to visually check equipment to see that it is operating properly.
Review operator rounds as needed.
Follow standard operating and emergency procedures until trouble can be corrected.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or 15+ years of experience working at industrial plants (e.g. Chemical, Power, Nuclear) that required 24/7 operations
Experience with reading and understanding P&IDs
Preferred experience with high temperature systems, including molten salt applications.
Proficiency leading diverse teams.
Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills
Broad experience across power plant topics
Experience as a technical mentor
Ability to work with highly collaborative team.
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others.
Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge.
Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges, and issues.
Physical Conditions
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, scissor lifts, articulated boom lifts and the like
Setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. scaffolding, ladders)
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Adjusting, moving, transporting, installing, positioning, or removing objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
