For nearly 50 years, Quincy Recycle has been solving waste stream problems for our partners, proving our team can design solutions that will fit your specific business and waste needs. Often, we find our partners can reduce waste and landfill costs simultaneously, creating a positive impact on the environment and their bottom line.

We are looking for an Operations Manager at our Marion, IA. location. Our Operations Managers are confident, competitive, innovative, and have a sense of urgency when it comes to supporting their team and the business process. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shift priorities, direct leadership, and driving consistent results.

Sales Role Daily/Weekly Activities:

• Create and sustain a safe plant environment and culture

• Manage all commodity receiving, processing, inventory, and shipping processes

• Identify opportunities to expand or shift course quickly to maximize changing markets

• Support and manage an effective preventative maintenance program for plant equipment

• Manage a staff consisting of direct labor, maintenance and customer services associates.

• Optimize operational productivity and efficiencies while maximizing gross margin

• Support Business Development and Administrative team members in driving profitable plant performance

• Train staff as needed

• Collaborates with and works alongside the team on the plant floor.

• Minimum of 90% of time spent on the floor. This is not an office job.

Keys to Success:

• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field and previous P&L responsibility preferred

• 3-5 years in an operations management role preferred Warehouse/Manufacturing

• Experience with P&L responsibility preferred

• Strong leader of people and able to get buy-in from all members of the team.

• High level of confidence in making business decisions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to support maintenance functions

• Highly effective written and oral communication skills coupled with proven team development experience

• Ability to be flexible with schedule to support our day and overnight shifts.
