Responsibilities

At Office Depot and Office Max, Operations Manager is responsible for freight and logistics activities within the store. This person will partner with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to provide guidance to Logistics associates by facilitating some training; providing positive and constructive feedback, and the appropriate level of coaching required from a Lead.

In partnership with the management team, S/he will also maintain loss prevention compliance, store visual and merchandising standards. The Operations Manager, will also play a Leader on Duty role and proactively engage with customers to exceed their needs and work to generate revenue by driving a sales culture. The Operations Manager will also be a Key Carrier and while functioning in this role, will be considered the Leader on Duty.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent experience; Bachelor's;degree preferred

Other Information

  • Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or other related field preferred;

  • Minimum two years of experience in retail, supervisory experience in a sales driven customer oriented environmen

This role will oversee On Site Services (OSS) operations for a dedicated region to maximize profitability and to plan for ongoing operational needs specific to facilities, labor, equipment, technology and market conditions and trends. Primary Responsibilities: * Prioritizes health and safety by following policies, procedures and ensures audit standards are in compliance. * Drives continuous improvement in IRM operations by way of process optimization, site performance, employee development, financial planning and growth opportunities. * Manages employees in designated region, providing direction, support, information and expertise; utilizes processes and metrics to measure personnel performance to continually drive improvement; ensures infrastructure and employees are equipped to conduct business effectively, in a safe manner, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. * Ensures regional site performance; providing guidance to and oversight of sites in assigned region. * Under the guidance of the Regional IRM Business Manager, works with area sales and operations leaders to identify and deliver on cross-selling opportunities, business development and market penetration initiatives. * Interfaces with customer to build strong relationships in a professional and effective manner. * Provides excellent customer service on special projects, day-to-day service and improvement initiatives; builds a positive company image and fosters growth of the business relationship. * Under the guidance of the Regional IRM Business Manager, develops forecasts and long-range business plans. * Understands local business environment to support the development of sales and marketing plans in alignment with overall IRM business strategy. * Provides accurate and timely analysis and data to upper management; presents findings and suggestions for improvement. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education: * Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience: * 5+ years of operations, logistics, manufacturing experience. * Previous experience in the chemicals industry preferred. * Previous supervisory, planning, staffing, and budgeting (P&L) experience. * Previous project management experience desired. Skills: * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Strong analytical skills. * Proficient with MS Office package; advanced Excel skills preferred. * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent employee and customer relations/management experience. * Ability to set clear objectives and measurements. * Ability to travel up to 30% of time within region.
