CJ Pony Parts is looking for an Operations Manager to join our Las Vegas team! This role exists to lead and oversee all aspects of distribution from the West Coast facility. This includes oversight of receiving, inventory control, order selection, and shipping. This position also has site responsibility for safety, security, maintenance, and administration of company policies and procedures. Leads, builds, develops, and retains a committed and talented workforce with a strong focus on process improvement and system implementation. Uses analytics to make data driven decisions for the operation.

Day to Day Expectations:

  • Responsible for a 6-7 day per week multi shift operation so flexibility in work schedule is required.

  • Develop, lead, and communicate organizational and location goals and objectives, motivating team performance.

  • Analyze raw operational data (labor metrics, forecasting, etc.) and deconstruct information into smaller categories to draw conclusions.

  • Work alongside and coordinate with East Coast Operations Manager to ensure East/West Coast operations are successfully communicating and working towards common goals.

  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

  • Work with HR to accomplish warehouse operations human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. Strives to have an engaged workforce where turnover is lower than industry standards.

  • Achieve warehouse operational objectives such as, but not limited to, controlling costs (labor, transportation, supplies, etc.), maintaining quality of products and shipments, meeting or exceeding customer service goals.

  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.

  • Develop and improve warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating and recommending new equipment and/or processes.

  • Develop and implement warehouse operational improvements by analyzing data, process workflow, workforce and space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

  • Follow project assignments/timelines and provide updates on progress.

  • Work on multiple projects and manage time responsibly.

  • Accomplish warehouse operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent experience in related field.

  • Experience: 5-7 years of related warehouse management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience within a transportation management and/or warehouse distribution role. Previous experience with WMS software and best inventory practices. Previous experience using Crystal Reports, MS Access and/or ERP software.

  • Specific Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to analyze sizeable amounts of raw data and draw conclusions and solutions. Proficient in leading/coaching/developing business teams. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using ERP and WMS software. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Possesses a self-motivated attitude towards work and meeting deadlines.

  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.: Sit-down and stand-up forklift, reach truck, and other warehouse equipment.
