The company's broader aftermarket product coverage, stronger distribution channels, and enhanced channel development will strengthen its position in established and high growth markets (China and India), and drive success through new mobility models and capturing evolving e-commerce opportunities.

We are looking for a Night Shift Operations Manager to join our distribution center in York, PA. This overnight role is scheduled for M-TH from 3:30 PM 2:00 AM. The Night Shift Manager will direct the distribution center workflow to achieve the operational objectives of the facility. This person achieves warehouse objectives by contributing information and initiating action plans for process improvement in the areas of productivity, quality, safety, and customer-service standards. Resolving problems, completing audits, and identifying trends are within the scope of this role's responsibility. This person will report to the Area Operations Manager and will become a valued member of our team therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

  • Must comply with all EH&S regulations for the protection of the environment and maintain safe working conditions.

  • Policies, procedures, and work instructions must be adhered to for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

  • Required to meet all operational financial objectives through forecasting requirements and adhering to the annual budget. Responsible for scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Develop and suggest improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout to implement changes.

  • Participate in root cause analysis to identify problems and recommend changes.

  • Monitor standard operating procedures and implement resolutions for process improvement.

  • Accountable for evaluating their Leadership Team and providing feedback regarding job performance and expectations in a timely manner.

  • May serve on cross-functional teams; responsible for multiple areas or shifts.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to lead and foster a team environment, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts as required.

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both internal and external.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a professional manner.

  • Working knowledge of SAP/WMS and understand workflow processes and procedures.

  • Ability to handle the pressure of deadlines, coupled with frequent interruptions.

Required Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain preferred or equivalent experience


  • A minimum of 5 years' level experience in a multi-shift operation required.

  • Advanced technical skills in logistics processes and methods to include flow, cost efficiency, engineered standards, equipment, safety and quality.

As a Distribution Supervisor, you will supervise hourly personnel in the receipt, processing, packaging, storage, order filling and shipment of parts to Caterpillar dealers, Distribution Centers and Regional Distribution Centers to support the end users of Caterpillar equipment. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Contributing to the development of an effective work force by engaging and mentoring employees to follow all established work processes * Leading teams working on problem resolution and process improvement * Maintaining high employee morale by ensuring established work standards are delivered * Ensuring parts inventory is received, processed and stored in a safe, efficient and timely manner * Responding to dealer calls and making immediate decisions to resolve the issue * Providing necessary on the job training * Improving productivity and quality by taking ownership of the process * Conducts daily safety meetings to ensure that employees have the proper equipment to perform their jobs safely * Provides training or counseling to correct any unsafe behavior observed by those who do not follow set work standards * If represented, conducting grievance meetings with employees and union committeemen * Preparing and maintaining necessary paperwork for hourly payroll and attendance records Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * 2+ years of leadership experience * Previous experience in at least one of the following: operations, purchasing, parts ordering and/or inventory management Top Candidates Will Also Have: * Minimum of 2-year college degree * Microsoft Office application experience * Experience working with EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) * Strong leadership, initiative and ability to develop working relationships with others * 2-4 years in a warehouse environment * Excellent interpersonal skills * Green belt experience in more than one 6 Sigma project * Willingness to go off-shift and/or relocate as supervisor, assistant manager, etc. as needed to continue development This opening is for a 3rd shift position.
