Responsible for the effective, efficient and safe leadership of the Materials Management, Transport and Linen departments to support clinical operations, cost containment or reduction goals, and satisfaction of patient and customer needs.
Maintain or develop systems and processes that ensure supplies, linen, and equipment necessary to support clinical operations are readily available at all times.
Regularly analyze supply, linen, and equipment inventory levels and use data to ensure inventory levels are optimized to meet clinical needs while avoiding expirations and waste.
Maintain or develop systems and processes to monitor and meet patient transport throughput goals.
Maintain accurate Peoplesoft Inventory carts.
Maintain package and tissue tracking systems to ensure accurate documentation.
Adhere to Partners contracting policies and procedures.
Represent Newton Wellesley Hospital at Partners Contracting / Materials Management meetings.
Co-Lead the Newton Wellesley Product Selection Team.
Develop employees schedules including staffing and duty assignments that meet the needs of the clinical units supported.
In collaboration with Partners Contracting, manage and maintain documentation of product recalls.
Maintain or develop vendor management and access policies and procedures.
Maintain the Vendor Mate perioperative vendor management system.
Maintain clean and orderly Receiving, Storeroom and Supply Inventory spaces.
Maintain an environment that promotes respect, collaboration and employee engagement.
Conduct employee's performance appraisals.
Conduct disciplinary action when necessary.
Monitor and submit staff payroll in accordance with hospital policies and practices.
Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for Storeroom, Transportation, Equipment, Mailroom and Laundry / Linen departments.
Assist Department leaders with product research and analysis.
Select, orient, train and mentor subordinate Supervisors and Staff.
Interpret and implement established policies and procedures.
Assure compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies.
Conduct product cycle counts and annual inventory.
Responsibilities to include but not be limited to the above.
Bachelor's degree with 3 years healthcare leadership experience or 10 years of healthcare leadership experience in logistics or support services required. Ability to create and utilize data, evidence in decision making and performance monitoring. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on satisfying customer needs. Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Ability to represent Newton Wellesley Hospital to internal and external customers in a professional manner. Ability to creatively problem solve, work collaboratively with other leaders and prioritize issues. Experience with Materials Management Systems- preferably Peoplesoft and Epic. Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
