Operations Manager - JLG Service & Used Equipment

To plan, manage, and continually evaluate Service branch operations in a manner which ensures high customer, employee, and shareholder satisfaction. This role will lead operations functions for Service & Used Equipment at our Houston TX and Riverside CA sites, as well as smaller Used Equipment function in Terre Haute IN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors operation/ production status, labor and expenses

  • Ensures that key measurements such as safety, production schedules, gals and budgets are established and achieved.

  • Operations activities are administered and monitored in compliance with key measurements

  • Devises strategic plans in order to anticipate business opportunities and technological changes

  • Capital budget is procured and justified so that sound investments and high return on investments are realized

  • Continuous improvement is promoted and supported

  • Hold accountable team members to develop and implement robust processes to improve quality and productivity within the area

  • Facilitates employees by way of conflict resolution, reviewing individual performance, and representing/ participating at business meetings

  • Employees' performance is appraised to ensure success and positive attitudes

  • Conflict resolution is undertaken to resolve problems

  • Employee involvement and safety is promoted and supported

  • Oversee daily/ weekly production, staff, business unit, and CIP meetings.

  • Relevant business topic and plans for execution are prepared ahead and discussed at meeting

  • Manage shop and mobile technicians.

  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Eight plus years of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, problem-solve, and evaluate information

  • Good organization and planning skills

  • Experience with dispatching process, managing tech utilization, ensuring quality techs via VOC and KPI's

The primary purpose of the Senior Facilities Project Manager position is to represent Facilities Planning, Design and Construction while providing project management expertise in management of one or more assigned projects. Under minimal direction, independently manages complex major capital facility projects. Possess an extensive knowledge of construction processes, product application and building/infrastructure component assembly. Demonstrate broad project management skills in the management of integration/coordination of project elements, delegation of activities in the management of stakeholders, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, managing changes priorities and communication management in the generation, collection, dissemination, storage and ultimate disposition of project information. Assures compliance with, and adheres to, current institutional and industry standards. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Project Management Manage the key projects aspects of scope, budget, schedule, and project contract compliance. Ensure that projects are successfully completed on schedule, within the approval budget and in accordance with applicable quality standards. Guide and manage the Project Team ( customers, General Contractor/Construction Manager, Consultants, Facilities, Planning, Design, & Construction internal resources and Facilities Management Division groups) to yield productive actions through conflict management and use of good written and verbal communication to ensure a successful project completion. Compliance /Regulations Manage contractual compliance and relationships for the assigned projects. Defines & implements contractual and financial strategies. Coordinate approval procedures with the BOR, THECB, FSC and associated State Agencies. Work collaboratively with Supply Chain Services in the preparation of necessary documentation for contract award. Support the ROCIP on the selected projects. Documentation/Recordkeeping Develops and manages project documentation, record keeping, financial and activity status reports that are accurate, up-to-date, clear and complete in support of the decision making, issue solving and informing processes of a project. Ensure that the project documentation records are organized and stored properly. Other duties as assigned. Required: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or other construction related Architectural Engineering field or related discipline. Five years of project management/construction experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
