Job Summary

This is a frontline manager position that supports the FedEx Ground (FXG) Safety Above All Culture and manages specific day-to-day operations and an assigned staff within a station or hub. Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient package sortation through the management of Package Handlers. The Operations Manager may also manage administrative employees and functions and ensures administrative processes are compliant with FXG policies and procedures and governmental regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a champion for FXG's Safety Above All Culture and supports all related initiatives

  • Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity

  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls specific day-to-day operations within the station or hub

  • Responsible for assigning and managing employees to ensure the safe and efficient sortation of packages through the facility, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality, including the movement, tracking and administration of trailers (in conjunction with the linehaul department as applicable)

  • Analyzes operational performance through direct observation, interpretation of reports and collaboration with others.

Determines opportunities for improvement of key metrics and executes action plans to achieve results

  • Leads daily employee and/or planning meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of operational updates and daily goals

  • Participates in the development of and responsible for administering company employee relations strategies, including maintaining the confidentiality of such material and matters

  • Participates in the development of and responsible for administering company safety strategies and programs

  • Investigates, resolves and/or escalates customer service issues, as appropriate

  • Responsible for training new employees regarding job duties and performance expectations and ensuring compliance with FXG policies, procedures and other training requirements, including but not limited to training related to quality assurance, SWAK, hazardous materials, and dock safety


  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or a related area preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Six (6) months package handler, FedEx Ground field or related experience required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or a related area is accepted in lieu of required experience

  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications

  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of relevant technology-based projects, including various devices and computer- based applications

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY The Residence Manager is responsible to oversee daily shift operations, ensure accomplishment of program-wide goals, coordinate the scheduling of staff, complete all records and reports, facilitate on-site orientation and training, and monitor and provide supervisory oversight to the overall operations of the program. Participate in Agency activities under the supervision of the Coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Activities include but are not limited to the following: * Monitor the safety and well being of the individuals and report issues as necessary. * Ensure the accomplishment of individuals' goals and behavior plans; ensure that the Individual Program Plan (IPP) is implemented and documented. * Maintain the timely completion of all records and reports as directed by the Coordinator. * Supervise the daily shift operations of the residence. * Ensure effective communication of daily work info and expectations. * Under the direction of the Coordinator, maintain site staffing schedules and coverage. * Role model appropriate skills and behaviors. * Problem solve daily shift issues and/or conflicts as part of site leadership team. * Provide coaching and counseling of Resident Counselors as directed by the Coordinator to enhance individual and team performance. * Complete annual evaluations for Resident Counselors for approval by Coordinator. * Arrange and assist with on site orientation and training activities for new employees and existing staff. * Assist with interviews for job openings as requested for hiring decision by Coordinator. * Perform duties of the Residence Counselor as needed, including but not limited to: Serve as a Role Model, promote the individuals' independence by implementing the IPP, attend to personal, self-care and other program needs that the individuals cannot independently accomplish. * Maintain accurate purchasing records, petty cash and personal funds; establish effective contact with all vendors. * Monitor operation and condition of the building and supplies; ensure building security. * Participate in activities as part of the treatment team such as; meetings, trainings, and committees. * Develop and maintain an effective communication network with the individuals, program staff, families, community agencies, and other Agency departments. * Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency's culture, values and mission. * Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE * Minimum Requirement: Associates Degree in a related field (human services, sociology, general studies, etc.). 15 credit hours in a related field must be completed to qualify for the residence manager position. * BS/BA in Human Services or related field preferred. * Minimum one year experience. * Valid New York State driver's license. * Knowledge of basic computer programs (Including all Windows programs, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Internet Browser, Access, Word and Excel) HRIS systems applications preferred. * This position has regular and substantial unsupervised and unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) or OMH (Office of Mental Health). * Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted. WORK ENVIRONMENT/HAZARDS * Job related tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or the potential for skin or mucous membrane contact from spills or splashes of these substances.
