Responsibilities:

  • Manage the building technologies new construction business while leading Project Managers, supervisors and Field Technicians.

  • Full P&L Responsibilities for new contraction activities.

  • Balance financial metrics with employee and customer needs.

  • Conduct one-on-one reviews with direct reports to help develop each individual's potential on the team.

  • Submit financial forecasting information monthly.

  • Complete cost reviews with sales either directly or through your team.

  • Participate on job walks and estimating.

  • Prioritize schedules.

  • Proactively forecast labor needs.

  • Identify and support training and development for staff

  • Provide technical support, expertise, leadership and accountability for installed projects.

  • Actively coordinate startup activity schedules with the Project Managers, Engineering and Operations supervisors to ensure correct staffing and correct abilities are provided to meet individual project schedules and commitments.

  • Develop manpower schedules and project loading to ensure contract completion in an efficient and profitable manner.

  • Participate in or facilitate representation for the Project Manager to Field Work Force Project Turnovers, and the Solutions to Service Project Turnovers.

  • Maintains and improves planned and executed margins for Solutions projects.

  • Provide technical and operational support for the sales teams, including proper pricing and scope-of-work definition for solutions project opportunities.

  • Communicate regularly with customers through all phases of the work we perform for them.

  • Build and maintain an effective operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth.

  • Manage or advise on hiring, training, development, allocation, and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility. Assist branch with training and development of operations personnel including training on use of financial reports.

  • Responsible for maintaining a Safety culture and drive associated activities.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Required education: High school diploma, state-recognized GED, or state-recognized high school proficiency exam.

  • Required experience: Building technologies construction experience, with management or team leadership experience relevant to being able to drive projects for our general- and mechanical-contractor clients who rely on Siemens' expertise.

  • Required travel: 10%

  • Other requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • A thorough understanding of project management processes.

  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without a need for current or future sponsorship.

  • Must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing and be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or other field providing the educational background needed to succeed in this function.

Responsibilities: * Attends pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. * Analyzes plans, specifications, and contract to determine system requirements. * Selects products, sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet specification requirements. * Designs primarily small service building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, and Direct Digital Control panel layouts to meet the intent of project plans, specifications and contract documents. * Designs primarily small project building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through multiple communication protocols including: Siemens P2, BACnet, LON, Modbus, etc. * Creates automation system database and job-related programming for computer-based building control systems. * Establishes special calibration instructions on selected equipment. * Oversees the creation of system graphics. * Troubleshoots possible issues including identifying and debugging software, electrical, or pneumatic installation problems. * Organizes and maintains the job folder and updates pertinent job-related information. Prepares engineering re-estimate reports. * Provides on-site assistance with or performs the programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning and validation processes. * Participates in job site final walk-through on assigned jobs, completes all job closeout documentation and provides customer training. * Acts as a technical resource to existing customers and field employees as needed. Coordinates work with subcontractors. * Provides engineering services listed above for larger and/or more complex projects with some deviation from standard practices if required. * Must be able to perform all tasks with minimal supervision or coaching. * May be responsible for training and providing guidance to engineering assistants and other specialists.
