Job Summary/Purpose

The Clinical Quality Manager will possess a high level of understanding of how to lead patient care teams in a healthcare delivery environment. He/She is responsible for Clinical Quality oversight of EyeCare Partners Ophthalmology practice as assigned. This leader will oversee the clinical training team, and the clinical scribe team, lead the development of the training program to produce clinical teams with high standards and quality care. He/she will partner with other leaders to execute the highest quality clinical care. Trainers and Scribes will report directly to the Clinical Quality Manager. Scribes will have a dotted line reporting structure to location managers or leads. In addition, the Clinical Quality Manager will monitor and implement necessary changes to meet MACRA MIPS metrics to earn top scores for maximum reimbursement. This is a key leadership member and will work in a fast-paced, but flexible and engaging environment. The Clinical Quality Manager will report to the Clinical Operations Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee scribes and training team.

  • Thinks strategically; identifies where training needs are. Aligns training with MACRA MIPS requirements.

  • Oversight of MACRA/MIPS: Reviews MACRA/MIPS reports, implements changes necessary to meet MACRA/MIPS metrics.

  • Stays abreast of all MACRA MIPS updates and changes and works closely with other ECP offices under our TIN.

  • Educates trainers, staff and managers on necessary clinical updates related to MACRA/MIPS and how to meet measures.

  • Communicate MACRA/MIPS scores to leaders and providers.

  • Prepares and submits all necessary MACRA MIPS reporting.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior

  • Responsible for continuous development and improvement of training program for clinical teams. Works closely with ECP training team to stay updated on new initiatives.

  • Provides mentoring and coaching for trainers and mentors.

  • Works with community resources to share career opportunities within GRO.

  • Collaborates with Managers/leads of clinics to maintain highest clinical quality standards through feedback and mentoring of new hires or current staff.

  • Remains educated and in-tune with trends in healthcare, reimbursement, operations, etc. on a national and local level.

  • Identifies goals and translates them into functional and actionable goals for team.

  • Achieves cooperation and teamwork through effective communications and positive relations with physicians, leadership, and staff.

  • Partner with practice physicians to identify doctor needs, and staff training needs.

  • Works to continuously assess all training needs in support of practice operations and driving for continued upskilling of talent through identifying strengths, training needs and opportunities to improve clinical quality.

  • Responsible for daily oversight and leadership of all scribes. Provides coaching, development and feedback on a regular basis.

  • Performs scribe audits with help from scribe trainer to promote clinical quality and standardization.

  • Reviews MACRA MIPS requirements, billing and coding changes and other documentation requirements regularly with scribe team.

  • Assists clinical team as needed with NextGen upgrades or changes.

  • Carries out corporate EyeCare Partners initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Demonstrated Skill

  • 3+ years of Clinical Experience in Ophthalmology is required.

  • COA preferred or willingness to obtain within 2 years.

  • Experience working as a trainer or mentor required. Leadership experience preferred.

  • Experience in a multi-site organization

  • Experience working in a growth-oriented, fast paced environment.

  • Strong analytical ability and strategic/critical thinker.

  • Values efficiency, change and performance.

  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office Software and Operating Systems, Compulink, NextGen proficiency required.

  • Ability to plan and oversee projects as assigned, budget minded.

  • Willingness to travel to all locations as assigned.
