Dedicated Computing designs and builds purpose-specific compute engines and high-level assemblies for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The Manufacturing group is critical to new customer engagements as well as maintaining existing customers. Working closely with Sustaining Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Management, and Sales, the Manufacturing group provides the products and services that customers value from the company.
The Operations Manager is responsible for building, supporting, and improving a best in class Manufacturing organization to meet the high quality, customer-specific standards for customers and products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide strategic direction and leadership for Manufacturing
Deliver world-class quality, on-time, and productivity results in alignment with company goals and values
Collaborate with scheduling to clearly define capability and capacity to ensure on-time performance for customer orders
Understand and promote the Quality Systems processes and procedures
Drive productivity and continuous improvement in all tools & processes
Attract, develop, and retain top talent
Complete quarterly reviews
Address disciplinary issues
Support New Product Introduction activities
Ensure a safe working environment
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree and at least 8 years of Manufacturing leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent communication and team building skills required
Ability to communicate technical issues in both verbal and written form
Proven problem solving and resolution skills
Hands-on knowledge of computer assembly
3-5 years of experience in a lean or one-piece flow environment
Experience leading kaizen and improvement activities
