The Operations Manager oversees the Night Shift operations in the distribution center. This position will drive continuous improvement, customer service and efficiency gains in a cost-effective manner.
Schedule: Day Shift
Monday through Thursday 7:00am
5:30pm

You will be responsible for….
Manage distribution center Supervisors to ensure production and shipping of product is timely and in cost-effective manner
Ensure standards for product quality, equipment, and employee performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production
Develop, monitor, and report on operating costs with functional areas. Alert management of cost and labor over run
Strategically adjust departments' activities to meet and/or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals
Develop strong partnerships with Superior's administrative support teams, to include, Purchasing, Sales and Program Management and support new product development activities as related to freight and logistics
Analyze anticipated growth against capacities to maintain and ensure proper storage, receiving, and shipping capabilities for present and future business
Ensure contingency policies, systems and practices are in place to prevent and eliminate business disruption
Champion efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with implementation of changes within areas of responsibility
Develop and administer programs to determine the most advantageous and economical methods of shipment for company products
Understand carrier relationships and monitor volume commitment
Work with operations leadership to analyze trends, implement new technologies and drive overall performance to maximize on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, reduce costs, compress lead times, improve efficiencies and implement corrective actions to resolve any issues
Oversee facility-related maintenance functions, including electrical, mechanical, security, environmental health, safety, and fire protection
Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to position

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is directly responsible for leading Supervisors of the facility and indirectly responsible for the distribution center employees within the facility.
Work Environment
This job operates in both an office and warehouse/distribution center environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
There is some outdoor exposure during the workday. While in the warehouse, this role will routinely work with standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

The employee must occasionally lift, and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb a ladder and gangways safely without limitation.
