Manufacturing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred

  • A minimum of 4+ years related work experience required, including 1+ year supervisory experience; 5 or more years of experience in medical device manufacturing and cross-functional team management preferred; 8 or more years strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated success in managing people and leading multiples teams and/or departments in manufacturing

  • Strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated success in achieving results along with strong financial acumen and project management

  • Experience in Operational Excellence

  • Conduct the operations of the plant in a safe manner, proactively addressing safety issues and concerns.

  • Proactively identify and solve problems in safety and quality.

  • Apply your knowledge of operations to effectively provide leadership with regards to the business priorities.

  • Review/generate weekly and monthly reports for the various corporate entities (i.e. Corporate EHS, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Quality).

  • Request/coordinate activities between Corporate and Plant resources.

  • Manage projects of varying size and scope.

  • Develop and execute manufacturing and Operational Excellence strategies to achieve overall Company strategic objectives.

  • Approve and oversee the annual expense budgets for areas of responsibility and provides signature approval.

  • Oversee the progress of major projects to ensure that Company goals and objectives are clearly defined and met by all areas of responsibility.

  • Report to the Director - Manufacturing on the progress and status of project responsibilities.

  • Communicate effectively with direct reports.

  • Assure compliance to ISO, GMP, and OSHA procedures.

  • Support new product and process introductions.

  • Lead involvement in community affairs.

  • Improve plant operations by applying your: understanding of technical processes related to automated equipment and manual assembly; understanding of costing, scheduling, purchasing and inventory control in a manufacturing environment; understanding of plant financials and experience with product forecasting; excellent interpersonal skills; proven leadership ability; ability to organize time effectively; proven ability to recognize potential problems and act quickly to resolve them; understanding of the principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

  • Oversee Quality Management, Auditing, Engineering, Quality System Regulation, and ISO Requirements.

  • Lead the team with your working knowledge of Quality Tools, Statistical Techniques, Technical Writing, Metrology and Calibration, Inspection and Testing, Sampling Principles and AQL, Six Sigma, Process Mapping, Histograms, FMEA, Risk Assessment, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, etc.

  • Conduct presentations to all levels of the organization.

VIEW JOBS 9/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-11T00:00 Job Description Summary SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of programs and systems designed to reduce risks to the Company. Facilitates compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and related Plant procedures. Manages all environmental projects associated with air, water and waste at the site. This function involves extensive recordkeeping, monitoring, report preparation, inspection, procedure development and revision, training, and extensive verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization and with interfacing agencies and organizations. Responsible for ensuring all reporting is conducted timely. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Minimize hazardous conditions from human error, equipment and machine operations, which may lead to human injury and/or property damage through elimination, engineering, administration and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) control measures. 2. Coordinate a system of internal inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and regulatory non-compliance, and coordinate or monitor corrective actions. 3. Implementation, reporting and auditing of all existing air discharge permits; waste water discharge permits; storm water discharge permits; hazardous waste and non hazardous waste programs and associated programs. This includes annual review of all applicable regulations. 4. Adhere to plant/corporate policies/procedures, department safety and environmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and ISO13485 standards. Audit and maintain current existing ISO 14001:2004 certified environmental management system. 5. Have sufficient knowledge of all environmental compliance reports with the appropriate agencies (internal and external). File RCRA, TSCA, EPCRA, SARA and MADEP required paperwork. 6. Review all accident reports for thoroughness of investigations and adequacy or corrective actions, and investigate all work-related accidents, incidents, and occupational illnesses. Maintain related records, and perform analysis to identify trends and causes. Make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. 7. Devise and coordinate safety awareness programs and conduct plant wide safety meetings. 8. Establish and implement plant safety training requirements and coordinate training efforts, including safety orientation, user-level training and periodic refresher training. 9. Evaluate and report occupational illness, injury, and incident trends to facility management staff. 10. Prepare and submit all required compliance reports, including OSHA & BLS reporting and recordkeeping and corporate safety periodic reports. 11. Develop and maintain facility emergency response procedures. 12. Review and approve appropriate personal protective equipment for plant applications. 13. Perform safety acceptance inspections of new or modified equipment to ensure appropriate safety features and hazard controls are in place. 14. Develop and execute waste minimization or risk mitigation project. PREFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety, Health or Environmental Engineering or related field. Preferred Experience: Minimum 5-8 years work experience with responsibilities in occupational safety, health and/or environmental compliance is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Skills/Qualifications: Professional certification as CSP or CIH is preferred. Incumbent may be asked to pursue professional certification.
