What this job involves

We are seeking a Operations Manager, Brokerage who will provide inspired leadership for our San Francisco corporate office. You will promote an organizational culture of trust and teamwork, build an inclusive work environment that embraces diversity, and elevate our people to achieve business growth. The role provides a unique opportunity with exposure to all aspects of the business in an emerging fast-paced market with high visibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with VP, Markets Operations on local initiatives, management and leadership

  • Work with HR and recruitment on full cycle employee management (hiring, on boarding, training and development, off boarding)

  • Develop and motivate a high performing sales-oriented support team

  • Promote learning and development opportunities for employees; facilitate training

  • Manage employee performance against specific organizational and personal objectives

  • Ensure direct reports are accurately recording time worked and PTO

  • Partner with Finance to achieve budget, annual financial and operational goals

  • Provide accurate and timely transaction documentation to ensure revenue recognition

  • Manage deal pipeline to help estimate teams' performance

  • Review commissions to ensure all cash received is accounted for and included on bi-weekly commission payments

  • Partner with Finance to ensure AR over 60 days are below 25% via monthly AR review

  • Manage spending and expense approvals in accordance with policies/guidelines

  • Work effectively with all corporate function partners (marketing, research, human resources/recruitment, finance, legal, office services and technology)

  • Ensure compliance with all Firm and local market policies

  • Participate in Markets Operations calls and meetings, share and implement best practices

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3-5 years direct/relevant experience preferred

  • Effective leadership ability; able to influence decisions, drive change and manage conflict

  • Strong client service orientation; proactive working style

  • Experience building high performance teams

  • Strong general finance, budgeting, P&L understanding

  • Excellent project management and problem solving ability

  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Proficiency across multiple technology platforms and applications (including MS Outlook and MS
