And don't worry, you don't have to be a trailer expert when you start we'll teach you! Then once you're trained, you're eligible for a promotion to Operations Manager, in charge of customer service and vendor management at your own branch.

As an Operations Management Trainee your typical day would include:

  • Serving customers like PepsiCo and FedEx when they need trailers, helping to determine their equipment needs, and explaining all our trailer-rental options.

  • Inspecting trailers using a hand-held device which includes checking for damage or equipment problems inside and underneath the trailer.

  • Managing customer accounts including helping with credit and collections.

  • Verifying customer insurance coverage.

  • Assigning repair work to vendors and XTRA Lease trailer mechanics.

  • Using technology to perform inventories, manage equipment, and other operational tasks.

Job Requirements

As an Operations Management Trainee, you'll need good technology skills and enjoy interacting with lots of different personalities. And the people who succeed as Operations Assistants are self-motivated, smart, and conscientious.

They have a strong work ethic and like new challenges. It's also important for you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will receive extensive training in all aspects of our business followed by ongoing safety training and certifications.

Researches/resolves client problems/issues. Oversees and coordinates operational aspects within various subsections of the clinical laboratory. Consults with clients to resolve service issues. Recommends processes to correct problems. Participates in department, inter department and inter facility projects which help the laboratory achieve its goals of providing quality service and client support in a cost effective manner. Develops equipment and system needs analysis as appropriate. Coordinates the integration of secondary laboratory information systems with RILIS. Interfaces with lab manager to implement and monitor an internal and external complaint/incident program. Coordinates and implements a safety program to include fire, hazardous wastes, infectious wastes, electrical, chemical. Coordinates a program of continuing education in the area of safety. Coordinates internal resources and monitors milestones to achieve service expectations. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in a high volume clinical laboratory. Education Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration Valid current California Laboratory Scientist license. Additional Requirements: Knowledge of CLIA, Title 22, CAP, TJC, NCQA, AABB, local, state, federal regulations. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a supervisory/managerial position preferred. Master's degree preferred. Notes: Responsible for being on call, rotating amongst the management team.
