JOB SUMMARY

The Associate will follow the Vulcan Operations Management Development program to gain an overall understanding of the industry, our business, and the Operations function. The main purpose of the development program is to prepare the Associate for a lead role in plant operations.

The program is approximately 24 months in duration depending on the competency and experience level of the individual. The Associate will participate in hands-on training involving Engineering, Quality Control, Plant Maintenance, Mobile Equipment Maintenance, Drilling & Blasting, Loading and Hauling, and overall facility management. The Associate will also spend extensive field time in one or more plants to gain experience in mining operations and processing aggregates and related products.

In addition, the individual will be trained in the management aspects of the business, including spending time in Accounting, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, and Safety & Health. Some associates will be involved in major capital and plant expansion projects.

Upon successful completion of the training program, the Associate will gain the competencies required to assume a lead or supervisor role in our operations.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required. A major in Engineering may be helpful but not essential.

Having the willingness to relocate within the Division is highly desirable.

The purpose of this work instruction is to define the functions and quality related aspects of the Mill Creek Electrical Technician. This work instruction highlights the following responsibilities, safety and quality impact concerns. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Safely perform and oversee timely electrical repairs to continuously improve plant processes and equipment * The Electrician will wear required personal protective equipment, including a half-face respirator in designated areas, and adhere to all local, state, federal, and U.S. Silica health & safety standards. * Safety First Thinking: Use proper tools and repair parts, in a safe manner, to make lasting and quality enhancing electrical repairs. * Troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments to production and safety equipment. * Plans, assists with planning and installs new plant electrical and electronic equipment. * Performs preventative electrical and electronic maintenance in accordance with established procedures. * Fill out all needed paperwork to record completed tasks, request needed tools and parts, and provide needed information to management. * Perform other duties as assigned by management or needed to continue effective operations including mechanical maintenance. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent EXPERIENCE: * A minimum of 5 years working as an electrical technician in an industrial setting, which included PLC, and 3 phase power systems training and experience Note: Management may waive minimum requirements for this position based on experience and/or other circumstances. * Experience with plant automation and control systems, including HMI and PLC systems and controls networks is a plus. FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Basic computer literacy * Math ability including fractions & elementary geometry * Read blueprints and word documents * Read electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams US Silica Mill Creek OK
