This job is primarily responsible for training to assume a management role (i.e. Superintendent or Operations Manager) to maintain the maintenance and operations of a facility while maintaining the safety and well-being of employees. The most important responsibility is guarding employee safety. This role will learn and utilize leadership skills and assume responsibility to ensure the facility operates in an efficient and profitable manner while facing different and new challenges every day. The job has direct input on personnel issues, financial decisions, construction projects and proposals, as well as the daily operations of the facility.

Manage the company's safety initiative: work with management and assumes authority to lead, direct, communicate, and enforce the company's safety program at assigned facility/facilities.
Manage the facility operation for efficiency and profitability; this will include learning how to independently plan staff daily work.
Lead the elevator employees to accomplish the work at hand and improve the facility; this may include job duties such as working with employees to coach and manage them to complete necessary tasks, assisting in planning the incoming/outgoing commodities for storage, loading, etc., or monitoring the commodity for quality issues.
Provide recommendations for facility and equipment repairs and construction projects.
Work with management on staffing activities and provide input and/or take action on such issues (hiring, staffing/scheduling, training, employee performance management, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, etc.).
Depending on business needs, may rotate through various departments at a facility or facilities.

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to relocate once training is finalized and ready to promote into new role.
Physical Demands & Requirements
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
Confined Spaces. Ability to work in confined and space restricted areas.
Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
