Summary:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern at our Irvine, CA plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with special projects related to improving processes, methods and equipment, and Continuous Improvement in:

  • Manufacturing

  • Safety

  • Demonstrates the ability to support problem-solving on existing production parts and processes.

  • In-depth analysis using mathematics, thermodynamics, and materials science, manufacturing.

  • Intern may work with Suppliers, Internal Quality and Operations personnel as necessary to successfully deploy new projects.

  • Other job duties as assigned

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.

DEPARTMENT: Reports to the Execution Manager, in our UCOS Department in Irvine – CA POSITION PURPOSE: The Project Manager Intern supports the Project Manager for all Projects updates and activities. Performs as liaison with planning and project team regarding tracking of materials on each project. Generate SAP reports for tracking of open PO's and supplier on time delivery. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Senior level student in Engineering, Administration or Business Administration. * Intermediate knowledge and usage of PC based software programs (i.e. - Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Detail oriented and capable of performing very accurate work. * Follow all local Operating Procedures. * Works in an environment with rapidly changing workloads, requires multi-tasking, and meeting urgent deadlines. * This position requires U.S. work authorization, not sponsorship eligible. * Self-motivated and success oriented. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Basic knowledge of business resource planning systems like SAP. * Lean manufacturing experience. * Ability to recognize and eliminate common forms of waste associated with assembly and production. * Ability or exposure to solve problems using 7-step (or similar) problem solving methodologies WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, listen and speak for long periods of time. * Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. * Frequent use of PC with close viewing of computer monitor. * Standard office work environment with infrequent need to work on manufacturing floor and wear PPE as required. * Required to work from 15 to 20 hours per week.
