Northrop Grumman is seeking a well-qualified Engineer with an extensive aerospace operational background working with systems or systems within a system. Selected candidate will serve as the principle engineering advisor to the Operations and Sustainment Program Manager.
In this capacity the candidate will act as the central liaison between operations and engineering. Selected candidate will mentor and provide technical leadership to an integrated teams of operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel located around the world responsible for ensuring airborne systems and associated support equipment are mission capable. Selected candidate will provide direct engagement to operations engineers providing customer support, engineering investigations, and repair dispositions at various sites worldwide.
Selected candidate will be responsible for the technical training and deployment schedules for a cadre of operations field engineers. Selected candidate will ensure technical data and engineering documentation is current, timely, and in accordance with contract requirements and engineering specifications. Selected candidate will provide regular briefings to the customer and program leadership regarding engineering status, technical challenges, and related risks. The ideal candidate will be an aerospace engineer with experience in aviation operations or developmental/operational test environments supporting real time system troubleshooting for manned or unmanned platforms.
Will also consider primary location in Chantilly, Virginia.
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.
At least 14 years engineering experience in development, test, or operational environments. Proficient with MATLAB and IADS.
Prior maintenance experience troubleshooting manned or unmanned aerospace platforms.
Must have leadership experience mentoring engineers and/or maintenance personnel.
Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
Must be able to travel CONUS and deploy OCONUS up to 50%.
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
Prior military experience in aviation operations or aviation maintenance.
Extensive experience with airborne systems in an engineering/troubleshooting support role.
