Operational Excellence Specialist - Job Description

Linamar Forgings Carolina (LFC) is part of Linamar Corporation's mobility Segment where the intersection of leading-edge technology and deep manufacturing expertise is creating solutions that power vehicles, motion, work, and lives for the future.

As an Operational Excellence Specialist, you shall ensure LFC's continual success through lean manufacturing principles, reinforcing and enhancing Linamar Production System (LPS) increasing productivity.

This position reports to LFC's CNC Business Unit manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Continual improvement with focus on shop floor management through waste elimination methodology, and the tools/methods associated (5W1H, fishbone diagram, 5why, PDCA, 5S, SMED, value stream mapping,…).

• Be able to lead production personnel and cross-functional teams to drive change across the organization.

• Gather data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems.

• Data visualization, create visual representations of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data understandable at glance.

• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the insights and findings from the data to stakeholders. Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights.

• Collaborate with process owners and other departments to understand their data needs and help them make informed decisions based on data insights.

• Collaborate with leadership to determine and rank the needs of different business units.

• Assisting in communicating change management plans and risk to stakeholders.

Required Skills and/or Qualifications.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or another analytical field.

• Five (5) years directly related work experience.

• Mastery of Excel and Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and exploration, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

• Experience with MS Office 365 skills (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)

• Passionate about driving change.

• Excellent communicator, with demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and facilitate.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure/pace environment.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black belt would be appreciated)

• Has or had exposure to leadership roles, to be ready to grow within Linamar.
