Operations Excellence Manager

Corbion is seeking a creative, highly motivated and experienced individual who will identify, align and execute site improvement activities in order to create value for the company. Drives and increases the maturity of the Totowa Site towards sustainable operations via Operation Excellence, TRACC, etc. Develops people with respect to continuous improvement, Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma by means of training, coaching and mentoring.

The Position

  • Oversees and directs the Site's Continuous Improvement (CI) and Operational Excellence journey with respect to people, practices and performance.

  • Monitors and reports on best practice implementation and performance progress to the Site Management Team.

  • Aligns, coaches and facilitates the Totowa Site Training, Lean/6 Sigma, Process/Project Engineering, Maintenance and Totowa AVT process resources.

  • Leads area/operational diagnostics to identify value and/or eliminate process variability.

  • Maximize operational performance by proactively identifying areas for improvement, leading lean initiatives and projects, utilizing lean tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key metrics, communicating continuous improvement activities and training team members to accomplish the same.

  • Leads CI project alignment such that objectives and milestones are met, within agreed budget and timing.

  • Give and receive timely, honest, data-driven feedback on site (and across Corbion as necessary) to influence tangible savings and drive cultural change.

  • Manages and reports on the Totowa site portfolio of CI projects in collaboration with site finance.

  • Champions CI with all functional groups within the plant without direct hierarchical authority, needs to engage and drive by means of strong communication and presentation, convincing messaging and credible influence management.

  • The CI Implementation Practices / TRACC requires careful assessment and judgment of applicability, required depth of implementation and choice of what to use. This position has a large influence / responsibility to make the right choices to prevent waste of time and resources and generate maximum benefit. Will be expected to champion and provide solid support for the local responsible TRACC rollout Project Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree required.

  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience with Food, Nutritional or Bakery industry experience preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills and experience Gold Seal in PMP a plus

  • Strong team player and leadership with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. The successful candidate must be equally adept at both the direct and indirect leading of people/teams as well as influencing key stakeholders.

  • Passion for world class operations and best practices with a strong understanding of Operational Excellence.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.

  • Must be a proven developer of people and teams.

  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; strong ability to lead and manage others through change.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization. Ability to switch between 'Helicopter View" with site management and 'hands on' at the floor level.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Project Management tools

  • MS Project, Primavera, etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

  • Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.

VIEW JOBS 10/27/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-25T00:00 Job Description: Laser Technicians maintain a professional relationship with all physicians, hospital staff, physicians' office staff and other personnel both in appearance and behavior. A Technician's role is to make sure equipment is working and ready for use when it is needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to the following. * Ensure proper handling of delicate lasers and equipment before, during and after procedures. * Test fire all equipment and inspect supplies prior to leaving Quality Assurance. * Arrive to cases on time and prepared, ensuring safe transport of sterile supplies. * Provide staff with necessary disposables needed in conjunction with UHS SS equipment. * Complete the necessary arrangements of the O.R. suite prior to surgical procedure by testing and cleaning equipment, insuring the sterilization and proper set up of equipment is complete prior to scheduled procedure. * Remove, clean, disinfect and/or sterilize all PRI equipment after surgical procedure. * Return equipment to UHS SS, clean in proper order ready to use. Insure unused disposable are returned to stock and all equipment is put away. * Bring any defective materials to the attention of Quality Assurance. * Process all paperwork (i.e. Work Orders, Purchase Orders, and Inventory) in a timely and accurate manner. * Vehicle, equipment logs and time cards are processed on time and accurate. * Maintain operational readiness of lasers, instruments, equipment and supplies at all times. * Maintain operational readiness of vehicle, to include removal of trash daily and any vehicle concerns are to be brought to the attention of the maintenance staff. Have routine maintenance performed as required. * All vehicle keys and fuel cards are to be returned to their paper place. * Respond to pager or phone as appropriate to the code used. Daily check of voicemails and e-mails as per company policy to ensure timely communication. * Keep abreast of trends in laser technology and related techniques through continued education. * Attend meetings and in-services, participating in UHS SS Education Program and assisting when requested with orientation and training of other UHS SS staff and hospital staff. * Take surgical cases as scheduled and take equal share of on-call, both weekend and weekday. * Must maintain current CPR and TB certificates as well as maintain a valid DMV license. * Perform pick-ups and deliveries as required. * Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with coworkers and management at all times. * Maintain technician status and qualifications as required by UHS SS. * Obtain facility Purchase Orders. * Close cases in the scheduling system daily. * Willing to take on new challenges while being directly accountable and self-critical. * Ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis. * Ability to travel when needed. * Ability to work flexible hours with an on call schedule. * All other duties as assigned.
