Responsibilities

  • Highly proficient in monitoring the gathering and analyzing of daily production data such as oil, water and gas producing rates and pressures and temperatures and understands how to respond to the data to efficiently maximize hydrocarbon producing rate and operating profits.

  • A mastery of understanding and analyzing lease operating expenses (LOE) is required. Highly proficient in production systems operations, being able to oversee the planning and sizing of flow line heaters, separators, oil/water storage & disposal, gas & liquid metering, dehydration facilities, gas compression and flowlines.

  • Highly proficient knowledge of artificial lift processes including sizing and selection of gas compression, rod pumping systems, gas lift systems, electric submersible pump systems, plunger lift systems, foaming with capillary strings and progressive cavity pumps.

  • Proficient in the planning and interpreting both open and cased hole logging operations and data.

  • Highly proficient in constructing or overseeing a detailed procedure to implement the objective of completion, workover and facilities installation or repair projects outlining personnel, equipment and materials required and the order in which they are to be implemented including cased hole evaluation logging, perforating systems, plugging and squeeze cementing techniques and design and formation stimulation (acid/frac/other).

  • Highly proficient in constructing or overseeing the construction of Authority For Expenditure (AFE) forms by determining and applying the proper per unit cost of each product and service to be used as described in a completion, workover or facilities installation project to assimilate the total cost estimate.

  • Highly proficient at performing (and could oversee others in) economic analysis of completion, workover, and production facilities projects.

  • Proficient in implementing (and could assist less qualified in) creative and entrepreneurial problem solving thinking and techniques for contributing to company goals to be the premier private energy company in the industry by efficiently developing energy that would otherwise be lost.

  • Must be willing and capable of effectively soliciting ideas from all people that you involve in the project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and buy-in to meet the goals of the projects and the company. Qualifications

  • Zero (0) to Three (3) oil and gas production field operations experience required.

  • Prior Hilcorp experience. Hilcorp intern program preffered.

  • Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in interpreting production related data.

  • Ability in developing self-directed teams to meet performance goals.

  • Ability in developing team momentum, enthusiasm, and pride in company when accomplishing company goals.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong dynamic team leadership skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.

  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

  • Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills. Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Preferred: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).

  • Succesful completion of the Hilcorp Internship Program preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in engineering.

Primary responsibility is to enhance the value of the Andrews asset, a technically challenging collection of enhanced recovery (CO2) units that produces 40,000 BOPD. This will be accomplished through the optimization of individual well performance, participation in BU collaboration activities, generation and execution of AFE's for capital/expense workovers, optimization of artificial lift/stimulation practices, and providing operations engineering support for the field operations team. Roles and Responsibilities: * Project Manager for CO2 capital development opportunities * Develop well enhancement opportunities and provide engineering oversight during execution of program * Surveillance : Lead or assist in well/pattern reviews, identify opportunities for lift revisions and well enhancements, and conduct periodic and ad hoc reviews * Identify and plan non-routine intervention opportunities: (1) research solution options, (2) evaluate costs, (3) write final procedures, (4) communicate execution priority and (5) act as technical resource for work * Active liaison between Reservoir Team and Field Operations * Support execution of routine and non-routine well interventions * Conduct post appraisals on workovers and drilling projects * Participate in chemical reviews with field personnel and chemical company to optimize treatments and results. * Evaluate well testing performance and support efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency * Supports regulatory with filings and may or may not submit directly to regulatory agency * Actively participate in the Summer Intern program * Advise younger Engineers on decision making processes * Gain more exposure to management or other business areas by participating in broader based (beyond the Reservoir Team) teams/projects * Participate in communities of practice (PEPAT, Communications Meetings) Education: * Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or similar Engineering degree Experience: * 5 years of production engineering experience * 3 years of artificial lift experience * 3 years in subsurface operations processes Skills: * Understands and demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic and some advanced technical principles and has applied them to solve routine problems. * Well intervention options and execution * Basic knowledge of artificial lift (beam, ESP, etc.) * Surveillance – identifying wells opportunities * Basic understanding of reading and understanding well logs * Understanding components of detailed well files and histories * Ability to lead and direct small ad hoc teams * Project management * Direct experience in one or more geographic areas/reservoirs/depletion drive mechanisms as well as working knowledge of others. * Direct experience in one core business area or life cycle of the field (E/D/P) and working knowledge of others. * Understands and demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic and some advanced technical principles, has applied them to solve routine problems * Broader understanding of economic programs (PEEP, Aries, etc.) * Good Presentation skills especially to management * Able to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment * Understanding of field operations including facilities, gas plants, workover and drilling operations * Experience with various software/tools e.g MS Office Suite, OFM, …. * CO2 experience desirable Oxy Houston TX
